Well I have only gone and published my first Lua script on the storefront.

This is a really useful day and night cycle script.
Attach it to any non-static object in your game for it to run - nothing else required!
The script will change the lighting within your live world in accordance with the game time of day.
(note - does not adjust the skybox or sky lighting at present)
Also displays the game time in 24hr clock format
and displays the game date, month and year
most functions are customizable -(details are in the notes in the script)

Change the passage of game time to real time or speed it up to any value you wish.
Built in auto game save feature which saves all the script variables to a file - currently set for every game hour but can be set to every game minute, day. month or year. This means you can exit game and reload it back to the same time that you exited - you can include many other variables to this script to save with the file.
Customizable Hud which incorporates the existing Hud.

The save feature can also save player data like position x y z or just save day night data ?

Microck - had a quick play with it and can save all the data you want if it has a variable - however, its how the engine uses the data when it starts - cant seem to over-ride the start marker - will look at in more depth tomorrow

i like what you have done but alas it is high up the list for doing, and i am sure they can sort out the skybox too so even though this is great i will see what tgc does, maybe you can adapt this script to theirs when it comes out. but i am only holding off due to skybox issue and an up there on the vote system but fantastic work
an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of game creation!!!

Impressive for a first script !!
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..
