AI is at the moment a event/situation optimized field. So learn to code/or find someone who can and code AI perfect for your situations in your level.
Then you have "smart" AI. That´s how the big developer(AAA title developer) do it
If you ask for ultimate genius realistic handling AI, then you must wait twenty years.....
