I agree, but that would also require a total rewrite of the editor, which is not within the scope of the performance upgrade, unfortunately.

Same here!

I think GG is a machine that does not know to be in sleep mode.
Constantly have to be doing calculations, calculations on the other hand may not be necessary at the time, and this causes memory overload.
GG must learn to relax, empty their mind, you know, reciting a mantra or something like that, and it is only then that will free up resources used for no apparent reason.

I can confirm this plus the exact same thing happens when leaving GG focus until a screen saver kicks in. GG does not like being left alone for long periods of time.

Yes GG does not like being left open, although it is way better now than it was 12 months ago.

Regarding the DX9 final version I mentioned. I don't see it being a major problem to do this, as it pretty much exists now. As far as I'm aware nothing has yet been changed regarding DX, just the C++ conversion. DX11 is the next step, but no reason they couldn't release the DX9 version as it stands when all is working as it should. After all it would be a faster more useful version then, even if no more updates would be forthcoming. Not everyone has the money to upgrade their computers and although DX9 users on Steam for example are low, they still exist and have paid for GG. I just think it would perhaps be a good PR option if not too much time had to be spent getting it ready.

Before the next big update, you should backup your old GG folder to another location.
This is what I will do, even the GG folder is already around 8 gb.
Old school FPS fan, DOOM!!! Why GG not working on my AMIGA 500?

You're a nice guy to be thinking of the XP users, mate. Lee is a nice guy, too, and he said he is going to try for DX9 and DX11compatability with the next version. This is what he said toward the end of today's Twitch broadcast, so we'll see what happens.

Cheers,
Rick
