Ravey is on the case meanwhile. I can just see him at his computer hitting the numeric keypad macros every time he hits a programming milestone. "TA-DA!"

That does not effect any progress don't worry ...
In fact Lee stated in his news letter he was looking forward to testing a new build when he got back
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

Goodness! I would have thought it at least slows things down a bit I'm sure Lee does a lot of work when he's working

I hope he is getting plenty of ideas, pics and footage while he's swimming about (for underwater stuff!).

I'm sitting waiting for a twitch today, but either it's back to 6 or running late...

I do recall Lee and others talking about the intended work on "swimming" before the feature voting system went up. I wonder if that means its something that will be worked on alongside the new performance updates. I'd be okay with a very raw ability to swim at this point. I just dont want all my levels to have acid pools and lakes. Regardless of the feature voting, in the forums and Steam along its clearly one of the most popular requests for the past few years. Interesting how it wasn't on the voting list and that is why im assuming it was already an intended feature that may have some work done on it.

Lee is far too busy drinking Guinness on a beach somewhere. But don't worry, he left Ravey chained to a PC in his basement with a couple of weeks supply of bread and water lol

Can't wait until this update is sorted out, my PC that I built in 2008 is starting to show it's age now lol. Still isn't too bad though, am getting around 15 FPS with the demo levels you get with GameGuru with everything turned up to 11 so it's not too bad.

I was especially interested in this news:

Quote: "The second piece of exciting news for us, is the decision to take advantage of the optimization work to update the engine to support DirectX 11. This opens up so much that it’s hard to know where to start, but in short this will allow us to add such wonders as tessellation, hardware instancing, much faster and more realistic lighting and shadowing and a host of other great features in the future."

We'll make a full announcement soon, but I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that as of last night, the full C++ version of GameGuru has compiled and ran. We've got a number of issues that we are debugging now, but expect to be able to send a build to our internal testers as early as next week.

Work on DirectX11 will begin in earnest once they report a stable build, many of the X11 features will also benefit performance as well as yielding some great looking visuals.

We'll have far more news for you on Monday, but for now, we're pleased to say that the conversion is going very smoothly.

Well, the next build is all about performance and improved visuals, so none of that will happen in the next release, but all of the things you mention are on our list.
