The business end of things always kills me. Is there a list of known venues to sell our finished games? And what sort of legalities need to be taken into account. Such as business license, tax ID#, things of that nature.

Has anyone sold a GG made game on Steam?

IndieDB does not even have an entry for GameGuru, so not sure what titles have been created with GameGuru. I suspect the answer is zero as to commercial releases though!

About tax and business license, I think this depends in which country you're living.
Yes, there is already a game on steam, made with GG, no not greenlight, steam... "My Bones"
What other option we have to sell our games.... Hmmmm.

- Steam
- humble store
- gog
- classic retail?

@Mookai

Hi Mookai. I was under the impression that "My Bones" was created using FPSC
http://www.indiedb.com/games/my-bones/

Although, having seen this, it does look like GameGuru

I think the game is also in a showcase thread.

Thanks for the info MooKai. It is an interesting test case for what type of reception commercial releases may receive. I think the author did pretty good considering the limitations of GameGuru, but already one locked thread cites GameGuru as the engine used (and not in a good light).

Good evening,

I think it just where you sell your country create a game with GG on Steam.

For me, France, if I sell a game on Steam with GameGuru I should create this:

- $ 150 license fee on Steam (one time payment)

Then if the game sells the benefits are shared as what am:

If you are NOT a company:
- 0% for TGC (stated in the license: you owe nothing to TGC)
- 19.6% for the state (income tax)
That's all !

If you are a company:
- 0% for TGC (Unless TGC exchange his license; the best is still to prevent TGC minimum you expect to sell a game created with GG under the name of your company. They can ask you anything, or tell the logo or the name of the company TheGameCreators in your game, which is quite normal.)
- 19.6% for the state
- 22% commission of sales in the corporate market
That's all !

^^

So in France, you can keep up to 80% of your profits!

However selling a store game is too risky and too expensive.
Know that to create a comic strip must be € 200,000 (~ $ 230,000) to start a band drawn nationally.
Then a video game ... ^^ '

$150.- ?
Hmmm... Steam fee is normally $100.- , so around 90 Euro for france, germany...
Dont forget after the tax, Valve want their % too, which is normally around 30%.

Calculation:

Price
-VAT
-Steam
======
Yours
-Your Income Tax

= The rest is for you

yes, you can set up your own site. but this will be much more work and less sales compared to steam or gog.

1 million $1 games can't come soon enough. Thanks, we'll keep an eye out for avenues.
