I've purchased quite a lot of items from the Store. When downloaded they are always organised/sorted by artist rather than category. I understand fully that a lot of work has gone into these assets and the artists/scripters deserve credit. However, it is very difficult quickly to find an appropriate asset when they are organised in this way. I have had to resort to saving my asset list, opening my PC's Libraries and typing key-words into the Search-bar to find items.

Is there any way for you to organise assets into categories (thus maintaining consistency) whilst also giving artists/scripters their dues?

Couldn't you just credit the artists in "abouts" section of your game? As for using assets, preselecting the entities you are using before you begin a project is a good practice because as you said.. it's difficult to keep track of.

You can do it manually without much effort. You could place them into folders like Buildings, Scenery, etc., then place the individual artists' works in sub directories, so you know whose was what. When I'm working on a project I move (actually copy/paste to keep originals where they started) stuff around as such all the time. It makes things SO much easier. For GG to do this is automatically is probably a bit much, as everyone sorts things to their own liking.

I'd be very happy to credit artists in 'Abouts' - maybe TGC could automate this. But I'd also like to find assets quickly - filed under Categories.

OK. Thanks, Terry. I might try that.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant Jerry. It's late here in England!

Actually, where do you add info to ABOUT. Since is none there from the start, I dont know where I would add it. Also change it to "CREDITS" instead?
The only stupid questions are those that were never asked.

If you'd like to change the ABOUT screen and also change the word to CREDITS, go to this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Game Guru\Files\titlesbank\default

There you will find the files with the word ABOUT in "about.png" and "about-hover.png". The backgrounds are in the eight sub-folders that are resolution-based. For instance the folder named "1920x1200" has the background screens for that resolution.

There is a really nice program for customizing your games called StyleGuru. It is written by Sanguis and can be found in the thread below:
