How come when I light map with these trees in the scene, they turn into mini black version of them selves with no texture?

Sounds like they were scaled in the fpe file and they are multi textured. Downloading them now.

Yes that is the problem, they are scaled in the FPE file and they are multi textured.

The artist will have to scale them in the model program and re export them if they choose.
You could try to import them in to fragmotion and then scale them and export them.
Change the scale to 100 in the fpe file and try them again.

Perform a F4 light mapping and see what happens to the trees.

Ok here's what you can do to get these to stay the right size and have their texture after F4 light mapping.
Edit each FPE file and rem out the effect line and then also rem out the scale line.

Erase all dbo and bin files for them.

Set them in the editor, scale to desired height.
run test game and then perform a F4 light map.

They stay the same size and the textures are on the meshes.
