I am trying to re texture a car model that I have. I want it to have been in a crash and be a little more bloody. But when I save the .dds from photoshop the texture is all messed up on the car. Is there a tutorial on this or a simple explanation of what I am doing wrong? I am simply making a new layer in photoshop and and adding a blood splatter over the windshield.

Looks like a UV map issue - does the original texture look fine in GameGuru?

Did you bring the model itself into PS to paint it in 3d? It may be that the texture has been flipped vertically....zbrush does this for some unfathomable reason....never use 3D myself in PS to make texture changes, so not sure, but you might want to try flipping the texture and see if that fixes it

Take a look at both the original and new texture in PS and you might see what the problem is....if you haven't changed the model itself then it should be easy to spot.

Ok,
I figured out what the problem is... But no idea of why the problem is happening...

I save the image like the "before" image. But it saves it as the "after" image.

Any ideas?

If your not using alpha transparency for the windows you don't need an alpha channel, if the alpha isn't right then your going to get transparency where you don't want it. I would suggest saving without alpha so your sure the texture is right, looking at your screens above it is definitely the png texture causing issues and might export to dds with an unwanted alpha.
After saving as dds, particularly from png, close the image out and reopen it to see if an alpha channel is present.

I will try this. But I was saving as a .dds. I used a .png screenshot so I could easily upload an image here.
