Hey,

What is empty Alpha channel in the Normal map in terrain used for?
Does this engine make use of Mipmaps?
Is it just me or do the terrain textures not always use the correct normal map?

Thanks

No it is not you, we are noticing that they appear to be backwards at times.
We are looking into this.

Thanks for reporting it, and sorry for the delayed reply.

The Alphas are for blending the maps in the terrain routine. GIMP does not show them correctly and they indeed have an image in them in photoshop.

We do not use mipmaps yet.

No the engine does use mipmaps. I am not aware if they have been removed, but earlier version was using mipmaps, if mipmaps weren't enabled in textures especially the terrain would show artifacts as a result.

Best format is DTX 5 with mipmaps enabled.
