I was thinking about modifying some of the buildings that you get with the software and DLC because you can't walk into the things. A bit pointless having Aztec buildings with the Fantasy DLC Pack for example if you can't go in and have a look around.

My original plan was to import an .x file into something like Blender or 3DS Max, export it as a .3ds or .obj file and import that into Sketchup. Then make the changes and export it as an .x file.

But I can't do it. I can't find anything that will open an .x file. Blender and Sketchup allow you to EXPORT .x files but the bloomin things can't IMPORT them. How daft is that..? I've even tried downloading a free program called 3D Converter 6.30 but it says that the file isn't compatible.

Anyone got any ideas..?

@Snowdog You can also use http://www.wings3d.com/ to import/export .x files to/from .obj/.3ds, etc.

I just tried open3mod and it works fine for me on win 8.1. I didn't use the installed version, though, I used the installer-less version.
