hi there! after finishing the first idea of "island hopper" i put it to the side to rebuild it later with more knowledge than before. now my newest idea is "deadly chase". the story is about the same guy from island hopper. the player is in a huge forest and discovers a secret bunker and plans for a series of bombings in a big city. the player must escape the forest, get help and disarm the bombs.
i have few screenshots, they're all WIP some have not even a single tree.
this is just a preview, there is more to come...

danke this is what happens when you try to build hamburg with a london set

okay i got some new pictures at an EARLY stage of progress. it's called "smart construct" and the aim of this map is to get into an industrial complex by climbing walls and containers, finding keys and killing some bad guys. this is a very early stage and there is a lot more to come! hope you like this

thanks

i have updated the story and the levels a little more and i think / hope you might want to know what's going on inside my head. i have very detailed ideas what i want in my game and the only problem is that i have to get the stuff from my head into the map.

the game ("deadly chase" the german title is "letzte chance: kämpf um dein leben") will base on a story i wrote long ago just like "hate boat" and "island hopper". there are three stories that are a closed trilogy and "hate boat" is the first one. "deadly chase" is part 2 and the direct sequel to "hate boat". the third story is named "LCÜ 3" and has no english name yet. this will be a future project for somewhen in the very far away future. it's playing on christmas in a german mall and is constructed like "hate boat". this time it's not a boat but a mall. later. for this game i can really use the snow boxes...

okay back to topic:
the first 3 or 4 maps of "deadly chase" will play in one big map, but always in different places, like a (half) open world map.
level 1: the protagonist must walk thru a large forest and find a hidden party hut. no enemies, no fighting, piece of cake usually you would see a video of the protagonist partying hard, drinking, smoking, falling asleep.

level 2: some of the party guests roam the forest, still a little drunk and find a bunker where they see weapons, explosives and a dead body. the protagonist is literally getting a rude awakening when the guys come back and tell what they have seen. so the task in this map will be: find the other bunker and find out what's going on there. well, he finds the bunker and finds out that terrorists are planning to blow up a few buildings in hamburg.

level 3: after finding out what's going on the player must escape as fast as possible. of course exactly now the terrorists return to their camp and the player can escape after being forced to kill some bad guys. get home to your party hut, collect all your friends who are still boozed and escape the forest. the main ways are all under the control of the terrorists who are trying to track you down so you have to escape thru the forest.

level 4: there is a big lake and one of the friends has the idea to get to the lake, grab a boat and cross the lake, get to the beach and steal a car to get away from the forest. so this level will be the biggest challenge to the memory management of GG because it covers the whole map wich is a huge forest. find the harbour, steal the boat.
the terrorists follow you a kill two of your friends but you manage to escape in a stolen van.

level 5: now you have left the forest and are on a new map. you make a break at a gas station near the autobahn to fill the gasoline into your new stolen car. while you are on the toilet you overhear two of the terrorists and find out that they are really close on your trail. you are discovered and have to shoot a few terrorists. there are many witnesses to this and you find yourself in the news as a murderer who starts a shooting in public. you must run to your car and escape again.

level 6: after a high speed shooting on the autobahn you manage to escape into a village where you want to inform the police about your latest adventures and end this drama but the terrorists are faster and start a shooting at the police station. you can barely escape and the police now thinks you are a cop killer. now you must escape again and now you have both the terrorists and the cops behind you.

level 7: in a quiet place you park your car and discuss how iT#s going on. you and your friends decide to find the construction plans of the bombs. you heard (on the toilet) that the plans are in a company that's named smart construct and you plan to break into the building.

level 8: you go into the industrial area and break into the smart construct building. you find the plan but the bad guys find you as well. escape again.

level 9: you are in the city and have three bombs to disarm. the first one is in a parking garage. the second one is in a sewer tunnel and the third one is in a big store. to get to the store you have to take the subway but once again the terrorists turn everything into a bloodbath.

level 10: you are confronted by cops but instead of listening to you they shoot at you because they still think you are the terrorist. escape to a container harbour to find the head quarters of the bad guys. final boss fight. the cops still hunt you but in the end they find the bad guys dead and the evidence that prove you are innocent. well despite killing lots of terrorists. there is a huge container ship harbour and i want it to be a rainy night.

that's my first idea of a script. as you can see there is still a lot of problems and things to do but that's my plan.

Some of the buildings not match with the other ones. Some of them have very large windows, I would remove them.

You're using a lot of trees, framerate ok?

great, thank you i am a little stuck with "island hopper" so i continued the next game (i only have these 2). in "deadly chase" i want to try some things i couldn't use or do in "island hopper". i have some maps with rain, a huge forest, some underground tunnels, sewer system and a big city. this is from the beginning. you have to find a bunker, enter and find some information in the basement. "island hopper" is a tropical island setting and "deadly chase" is supposed to be "european"

EDIT:
new screenshots from the first map.

new pictures from level 1 "The long way"
here you don't need to fight enemies or solve any puzzles just follow the way through the forest and find a secret hidden bunker. this is the first stage of progress i have to add more trees and some forest- stuff. this is an all new try, before this i had a huge giant beach and it didn't look that good.

here are some images of (till nameless, working title "escape") map 4 from "Deadly chase", it's almost finished. maybe i will do a lightmapping. i have my first customized skybox, i added a treeline to one of the GG skyboxes. i decided to split the whole map into 4 own maps. i am really close to the original because "deadly chase" will base on a novel i wrote and for each scene i have a very clear idea how it should look. i modeled every single piece to bring it as close as possible to my imagination.
this map features some bridges, many trees and bushes and a small port for boats and ships.

do you think i should add more distance blur or more fog, maybe a different color?
