hi there! i'm looking for water.
i have a pool (thanks to bisella ) and i want to fill it with water. i can't use the usual water because the pool is way above the water surface. i just need this pool as a background entity. it just needs to look as if it's filled with water.
i have some water objects. i have a flowing river and a waterfall but i don't have a still, quiet surface of water. is there something possible that also reflects the sunlight or works like a mirror?
i just want to put this water into my pool for that it doesn't look so empty and it should be transparent or half transparent at least because on the ground of the pool is a nice texture.

is that even possible?

completly wrong you need a kind of surface. A flat decal which simulates water on the top. But if you jump in you will see the illusion. But there is no real other solution at the moment.
My dream is to develope games, which makes fun when I create it and fun when other people play it.

here i took a decal from the decals pack 3 (by devcore35) and put it in the pool just for a test. if this would be possible transparent it would be exactly what i need.

edit: i also have transparent flowing water. but it's flowing. not really good for a pool

Maybe, Laffette's "Barrelwater" could be helpful ?
It doesn't flow, but it undulates slightly

Eh nuncio awake up!, it can be a great day today.

Do you want something like this?

Water
Polys: 1.382

This is a multi texture model, using 2 seperate textures.

2 Textures 1024x512
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pool
Polys: 3.408

This is a multi texture model, using 6 seperate textures.

2 Textures 512x512
1 Textures 512x1024
1 Textures 1024x1024
2 Textures 1024x512

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've make water + pool models as seperate folders, because maybe you want to use just the water, if so, change size to fit yours needs via fpe file, "scale = your size".

Tried to use Bond1 underwater fx (classic), but it does no work for me. ignore if it does in GG.

Forgot add some blue light to the water, in the video, but you can try if you want.

Of course this pool is for everyone that want to use it.

Enjoy

I've not tested this but does the material index for water actually work? If assigned to the entity of water will it splash when shot into?

Thaks mate, you are welcome

Not sure about, even no sure if sounds work with material type.
Sometime I've added wood material index(3) to a wooden floor, but it does not always sound as expected.
Perhaps I'm missing something here.

Referring to this "water" thread, I also have a big quest:
How can I add some decals, effects, in to a base waterfall water ?!?
When the water hit some stone, must have splash effect....
Something like bullets impact on the water (see the bellowed video please).
Thanks in advance
