Hello everyone.

I have a problem that is doing my head in. I have created a model that is just about ready but when I test it, I am able to walk through part of the model.

I am probably doing something stupid but I just can't get it to work properly.

Thanks
HP Pavilion Laptop, AMD A8-4555M APU with Radeon(tm) Graphics HD Graphics 1.6GHz, 8GB Memory, 64 Bit Operating System (Windows 8.1), 1 TB Hard Drive.

I've got something to say - It's better to burn out than fade away.

I would copy the fpe file of a model that's of the same type as yours - if it works, then it's an fpe setting, if not, then it's probably a modelling issue. Does the model look OK?

And check the normals in your 3d program. that all polygons face the correct direction.
Maybe something with export, a setting .

Try to export it with a other program like fragmotion. you can use fragmotion free for a week or so.

If you stilll have problems maybe i can also take a look at it.

you may see this in models with over 65,000 verticies in it. Thats where xfile stops processing it and leaves the rest unrendered, missing some crucial faces.

Consider splitting the model up a bit if this is the case.

Hello sorry for not replying to you for a while but I had something come up.

@Gtox yes I did change the FPE file but this did not do anything
@Harry I tried putting it through another program, this also did not work, thanks for the offer of looking at it.
@Pirate Myke it was not over 65,000 verts. I also tried splitting it up but still no joy, I did find something though when doing this. When I put the spiral staircase in on it's own GG crashed, so this suggested to me that there was something wrong with the staircase all along.

I tried the other parts on there own and they were fine, so I went about creating the spiral staircase manually (Took some time) but when it was finished I put it in GG and all was well.

I am going to put it all together again and see what happens, I will let you all know, it might be this weekend because it is my daughters birthday today and we are going out.
