Here is what is happening. I am on a Laptop with a wireless Logitech mouse. When you hover over a button in the interface it does not light up (activate) such as the interactive tutorial the 'next' button. It lights up only if you move the cursor about an inch down / below the button slightly to the right of it. The pointer is not activating over the actual textural buttons, arrows, objects etc.

I do have a copy of GameGuru on my desktop and laptop however Steam is not activated on both computers (thinking this was a conflict) at the same time.

I wanted to update this post, I went in to set GG to compatability to 7 and got the following failure window.
Laptop: Asus Processor: Intel Core i7-4500 CPU @ 1.8Ghz 2.40 Ghz / 64 Bit Processor / Ram 8.00 GB / Windows 8.1

What does it do when you switch it back?
Have you tried these in admin mode yet?

Hey Pirate let me give that a try and I'll let you know thanks for the response.

Ok now its working and the cursor is behaving what I did was:

Opened the program (Program Files 86 > Steam > steamapps > common > Game Guru
Right clicked on the GameGuru exe file
Choose Run as Administrator
Then Troubleshoot Compatibility > Compatibility Mode Windows 8
Laptop: Asus Processor: Intel Core i7-4500 CPU @ 1.8Ghz 2.40 Ghz / 64 Bit Processor / Ram 8.00 GB / Windows 8.1
