Please pardon what is probably a stupid question: How do I change to third person control when I put the wizard in another map - or even change his position in the existing fantasy map? (I'm 77, so one has these dumb moments.

Hi Grandpamike
On another map either select the Wizard and place him on the green start marker ( The message to attach character should appear )
or delete the old marker, add your own and place the Wizard on that .....
The only problem with another map if its big is finding the old marker ... To reposition on your own map its probably best to delete the Wizard and marker and place them both again in your new preferred position.
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

Is it possible to use a different character for the third person player?

Just add this line "isthirdperson = 1" to the FPE file under the "hasweapon" line. The animations don't always line up though, it seems like the character creator (uber solider) works fairly well. And, I'm not sure if this is a requirement, but you could set the AI to neutral like the Wizard has and/or give him/her the staff weapon.

Yes, you need to copy the staff weapon at least or there are issues. Uber soldier rig is the one use for the Character creator, because it has all the stock weapon animations in them

Hopefully there will be some improvements to the camera following. I noticed it kind of lags a bit even to the point where the player can at times be completely off screen for a couple milisecond.

Thanks for very rapid and helpfl reply, Syncromesh. Works perfectly. Yep, I still make games. Started a few years ago to keep the old brain occupied - but I'm not in the same league as you gents. With no computer background at all and coming from the electro-mechanical age, I'm despite being 77, basically a newbie!). Thanks again and regards to all.

I just got a Steam update and my third person works WAY better than before. Previously the animations were ALL wrong. I didn't see that anyone else had a problem with them (except moving sideways). Works pretty good now! I just wish I could find the time to play with these past few updates, haven't had any free time the past couple months!

@Grandpamike
Way to go. I was afraid I was the only senior citizen around. I'm 78 and need to ask questions of the younger crowd also.
Must admit they are a very helpful bunch.

I wonder if TGC has considered the possibility of building a retirement house for game maker like us.
