I know it might still be early to ask the following but anyways..

*Are the models in the character creator made out of single parts

*Do the models have lod stages or do they consist of 1 lod stage

*What is the maximum polycount a character model can have

*Can we replace the armature/rig/skeleton that is used by character creator with our own
(am asking this because the uber soldier rig has no facial animations)

*Can we create random characters at runtime? by script (that would be something..)

Before questions arise why would i replace the rig/ am using my own characters and would fuse those together in gg. Still i plan to use the ubersoldier animation set, will reproject those on my own rig. Thats at least my plan.

The uber soldier has the mouth Phenoms marked in the fpe file as 0,20. but looking at the skeleton I see you are correct, it does not have the head rig for talking.

It is my under standing that it works this way.
Models are composed of seperate x file to be assemble by your choices inside character creator.

They do not have the talker rig as of yet.

They do have LOD stage in them.

Not sure on the maximum number of polys allowed yet, or the number of bones allowed per mesh, or even how many bones can be pulled per vertices right now.

Not sure on replacing the rig yet at this early stage. things are put together a bit different. More info is being sought on this.

{quote]*Can we create random characters at runtime? by script (that would be something..)[/quote}

That would be something, and I will put it as a request.

Thank you.

If thats the case that there is a talker rig with mouth phenoms, it would be great and save me the time of reprojecting animations. Could simply take the Uber Soldier rig for my models.

Bond1's butler has a talker skeleton in it. Not to many people have been able to open it.

Have you tried the one here? https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/209329

I forget if it has the talker rig in it.
I have a custom one I did for FPSC Classic, that I rigged for my own use. It is ok, not great, as I did not really get to heavy into it.

But making your own will give you the insight to control it as you like, making it easier for you to adapt it to your needs. And be reusable for you. once the first one is done, the rest are just drop the mesh, weight the verticies and export it and script it.
almost 2 to 3 a day after the first one.

You might want to hold off for a little while till you see how things are put together in the CC and see how they made and separated the meshes to make it work. It is pretty cool.

tried the https://forum.game-guru.com/outbound?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.game-guru.com%2Fthread%2F209329
but it has no facial bones.
Am usually converting the .x files via fragmotion into .smd (hl2) files and loading those into blender and so far i have no problems gettiin the animations into blender as well.

I planed to use Blender Pitchipoy Human metarig, well rigging and animating is not issue for me but if i can reuse the uber soldiers animations, why shouldnt i .

Am not in a hurry and unlike GG am not at the stage with female and head models, so far my models are male and still need some tweaking along with lods = a long road, anyways thanks

Finally tried the character creator, seems to work verry well so far.
thumbs up to the team.

Now after checking it out it has really no facial bones and neither facial animations
but thats not a issue, i will use my own rig for my characters.

The following would be nice to have in a future update!
*selectable eye color
*selectable eye attachment (for sunglasses, headmics,...)
*selectable armor (light/mid/heavy armor vests for example)
*selectable head armor (move helmets/ caps, actually all headgear that is not hair to head armor,
this could be possibly get scripted so that player/user can pick up/ drop head gear at runtime or loose helmet while being shot in the head...)

*selectable foot attachment
(now i know this one might not get it but it would be nice to be able to change shoes/boots)

And since the characters are obviously being assembled at runtime (btw thats a great thing)
it would be nice to be able to drop helmets/armor and such, or by being shot.

Anyways i really like the way the CharCreator works and i hope the above suggestions are taken the way they are ment as improvements
but am sure some of those ideas are probably already spinning in the dev heads.

Thanks TGC/GG Team

would be nice to get a randomise button (and optional tickbox locks next to each of the settings so they dont get included in the random)

also we cant change hair colour and the tone boxes dont close unless you select a colour (no close icon or clicking off them to close like the others)
the rest is very nice

I Notice it is caracter soldier based, it would be nice a very civilian character without soldier behaviour.
I'm thinking of a detective with his coat and hat.
Obviously a detective does not behave like a soldier.

Aside, I created my first character and I have used it as a third person.
I've noticed that when the player turns, also rotates all the stage, and the game is very slow.

I know that only the wizard is adapted as a third person, but wanted to try as he works as a third person.
Anyway, I do love the CharKit. Thanks TGC!

I've been having an obscene amount of fun with the Character Creation kit. I do have a couple of suggestions:

It would be nice if, in addition to tinting whole sections, you could have a little resizable paintbrush to paint little designs or stains on the clothes or maybe war-paint on the faces or makeup.

Shame you can't change the head-hair colours.

I'd like to be able to change the shoes.

I would also like to resize parts of the character, maybe give someone a big belly.

Also, it would be nice to be able to reload one of your characters into the Character kit for re-editing. Sometimes, you can't really get a feel for a character until you've seen it in-game.

An easy importer for importing users' custom heads, bodies, etc. I managed to get a modified afro to work but it was a big hassle.
Looking forward to the characters being able to use the whole range of weapons.

One observation: when tinting skin colour the result tends to look less natural than the original. Also, I think someone's beard might have changed colour in test mode. lol.

I like the suggestions about randomising.

But superb for a first version!!

Thanks lordjulian...

Great suggestions there pretty much all I would like to see myself ..
The Character Creator is really just the first draft but even so has gone down very well ..

Expect to see many updates to the Character Kit in the future with many suggestions like yours incorporated.
Thanks for the feedback

I think its a bit stupid that you can change the tint colour of facial hair but not the colour of hair
who has black hair and a ginger beard.

Nice program the character creator, it remembers me of the old dressing dummies of the past. The fun is you can create a lot of combination of characters for your games. I hope it is expand with more characters like ww2 soldiers or scifi characters in the futures maybe some bots would be awesome. Thanks TGC for this great tool.

Me, too; my pub is on the "seedy" side of town! I'd bet, however, that would be up to somebody other than TGC to make it/sell it! It is a family friendly site, after all, although I've always wondered why blood, guts, and killing are more acceptable socially than anything remotely sexual, inferred or obvious. The creation of life, whether you're religious or non, has to be far more wonderful than destroying it.
