I have noticed that after light mapping a scene the cast shadows are not well defined. The cast shadows in real time are much better.
I don't think this was always the case but not sure. The better cast shadows in real time make me wonder why I would want to waste the time light mapping.

It's related to video memory usage. The next level up would consume FOUR TIMES the amount of memory we presently use. We've already had critique that the standalone executable and LM based FPM files are too large, and increasing the lightmap resolution to the next level up would not make some users very happy. It could be something we can add to the setup file but be warned the time it will take to lightmap with the newer resolution is exponentially longer!

@synchromesh

This is not really a new terrain as such. I have made a new terrain folder called "Beach" and then copied the standard "lush" files to
Beach folder and then replaced the "Path_D.dds" and Path_N.dds files with my own images. This allows the terrain to remain the same as "Lush" but gives me the opportunity to place my beach sand only where I need it. Having used the "Lush" terrain as a basis for "Beach" terrain I don't know if I can sell it in the store because it is not all original. If it's legal I would be glad to put it in the store...

I also made a second terrain where the Path dds AND the default dds files were replaced with beach sand, which will turn the full terrain image into beach sand. For me that's just to much sand unless I were creating endless sand dunes. Again not sure if legal.

Right now GameGuru has a problem with removing any image painted using the "Paint ground" icon. (it leaves a ghost image when removed)
