To be able to control the avaliablity of the use of the flashlight.

To be able to control the brightness, range and colour of light as well.

As an example.

So that the player has to find the flashlight first to use it, and to find batteries that could go flat after a selectable time period so they have to find more batteries. As batteries are going flat it would effect the brightness, range and colour of light as well.

Also instead of just a flashlight it could be a naked flame type light for use in Medieval / Survial type games.

As an example.

So that the player has to find material to burn and an ignition source first to use it. Wind, water and rain would be able to blow the flame out.

I may be old, but at least my memory still ....hmmm
