Feature Creep / Mulit-Texture Import for Models

Hello,

some models contain several Diffuse-Textures? F.e. for a *.x Model?
Great would be, if the "Import Model" Function would support several Textures.
When importing the second is shown already in the preview Window.
When the Model is saved, the second is gone.

Am I right, or am I doing something wrong and this request is more an issue for general Discussion and support.
And is possible to do, but is it me, who did it wrong?

Who knows help, please do let me know

No multi texture support in the importer, because you are not supposed to list the textures out or the shader, as it is defined in the xfile itself.

We also don't recommend multiple texture apart for normal, deffuse, specular and illumination maps (_N, _D, _S, _I).

Multi-textures cause multiple draw calls which in turn hit performance.

Hello,

okay. I see.

For a model with different Diffuse Mapps the only way would be to create a Atlas-Map.
I guess that is called a map, that combines the different maps of each kind (f.e. the *._D).
Ultimate Unwrap3D PRO is supposed to do such operations.

What happened to _O for ambient occlusion? Is that going to be put back in? I hope so
P.S I did not join in 2015. Ive been backing this project from day one. When I switched to steam it messed up my account....... Just so ya know
