Ok, I know they are working hard on the engine and the "game maker". I try to be patient. "
Nice video, shows what you can do with some good hardware running Game guru and some imagination. I disagree with your complaint about only being able to make maps though, you just haven't explored things properly yet. Some of the demo games prove a game is possible, and plenty of stuff is being worked on. Making a pretty map is the easy bit
Making a game within it the harder part (and dare I say it less fun, until things work of course!). Now you are tiring of map making, time to get into the nitty gritty
Lua. Even a basic knowledge will help you tremendously in making games. I hated the original FPSC script language, with Game guru and Lua I actually feel like I can get most ideas going with a bit of work. It's a full language and runs rings around fpi.
Great stuff though! Always nice to see GG running on a bit of a beast. A preview of how things will run in future when TGC wave their magic wand over the software
Well, perhaps not, but for future upgrades maybe. Although I am certain they will crack occlusion soonish.
Edit - Yepp, remember Rick Dangerous, never really played it at the time. Think I did a quick attempt on my youtube channel ages ago. I found it a bit difficult... I also remember the Gianni Sisters, there was a shed load of them at a store I used to work at. The original recalled ones. I really should have bought one at the time.
