Hi,

Sorry, I edited my post.

I just want to confirm that you are having the issues above with GameGuru?

If it is GameGuru that you are having issues with, it could be something missing from your computer.

I would suggest you install Visual C++ redistributable 2013 package for Windows from the link below and check if it helps.

You can get it from here.

Cheers

Jay.

Can you try the above link to see if we can at least get it on your machine.

Then do a search and see if it did in fact, install it some ware, normally windows\system folder.

Then we should be able to put it in the root of the install location for GG and possibly fool it into installing.

We will see if this will work. While they poor thru the code.

Thanks , sorry for the runaround, but all it needs to be is on your machine in a standard location, and your issue should be solved. But a bit of extra work for you.

Kershon, GameGuru should have installed this when you downloaded from Steam.

What I would suggest is completely uninstalling GameGuru and re-installing it from the start. Hopefully that will fix your issue.

I am personally out of Ideas, as it would seem to not follow the logical coarse on how these files are found. And being that you are the only one at this time experiencing this issue.

Normally if something is needed like that, it looks at the present folder, then if it cant find it there, it is supposed to check the windows system folders, then thro an error if it cant find. your install seems to think it cant find what it needs, or may not have proper permissions to do such a thing. But as you can install other games and play them, it is really baffle ling as those games have the runtime distributions of the same files, we had you install this morning.

I am going to have to pass this to the programmers, and let them figure it out. I am out of options my self.

This install apparently says its fine, but the actual running of the game says no way.

ok, one more thing just popped into mind. Can you go off line on steam, and then try to run GG again. Maybe forcing to run in admin mode might kick it into happening.

I know, more hoop jumping, and again I am sorry.

Man, I know how frustrating it can be.

I am having an issue like that with a flash player update this morning consuming and hour of my time. and still not working.

I will keep hunting for solutions. Sooner or later, a clue is going to slap us in the face, and it will function.

Good luck with that issue...its not uncommon.

I did the uninstall of game guru, and went into the apps folder then into game guru folder, it was empty except the mfc100.dll
Im thinking it would have need to go into folder with the other .dll's?

Again Thank You

There should only be two in the GG install folder. one for 3d geometry, the other is to link the app with steam.

now which has me thinking what if I put it in the steam library folder root. something else you can try, but you should not have had to gone this far with it. The developers have this in there hands right now, so I am hoping they have a fix for it soon for you.

I will keep checking back on this thread. if you get any further info , or it actually starts for you, please let me know.

I am looking back thru for a complete reboot of your machine, as one last thing, not seeing that we asked you to do that either.

I would start with coffee and some snacks.
: )

I am going to move this to the bug report thread, as it can be monitored better from there.
Thanks

I don't get the missing mfc100.dll anymore. the game starts and gets stuck on checking files. with the background flashing from black to gray
I have to hit esc to stop the checking files, and have to use task manager to get out of the program.

Its like steam gave me an incomplete download....any ideas?

Sorry, had to take care of some stuff.

OK, some progress

Now that does indicated an incomplete download.
Have you tried verifying the files in the properties of the library, by RMB on GameGuru
Properties.

Localfiles

Verify the integrity or Game Cache.

See if it shows any missing files, and recues them.

If that fails to do it, then under these same tab in the steam interface, Delete Local Game content.
Then try a complete reinstall of GG.

The steam downloaded does not like High packet loss when delivering these files to you, and is pretty sensitive about that.

Let me know if this gets you going? Thank you.

is your graphics card drivers are up to date?
Send me an email at myke1net @ Hotmail.com and put GameGuru in the subject some where, so it don't get lost in spam.
I have something to try, but you will need to do a little setup first. email me and I will explain in detail.

Sorry your still having this issue.

Yes that is being addressed also, Most have had good luck with the solutions given, but there are around 4 stubborn machines that I know of that this keeps coming back, one of them is my client in Poland, So you can see I have a vested interest, in solving this issue also. Cause if they cant use it, I cant collect for the work I have done for them.

So it is a problem for me also, even thou I am not having the trouble.

I am going to send you a PM.

Anybody still having problems with this:
You need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.

Important: You need 2010, NOT 2013 as suggested above, and also on 64bit you need the 32bit files.
