I continue to have problems with GG crashes. This morning (3/6), the new build up-date came through, and in my first attempt to use it GG crashed.

In loaded a map which I have been working on for some time. Granted it is a large map which requires 2 min and 25 seconds to load. Once in the editor I added a new building, and ran the test mode. When I hit escape to exit the test mode, the system locked.

I killed GG through Task Manager, but when I go to restart GG, I get a message saying the the program is already running???? I've had this before, and it means that the only way for me to get back to zero is to reboot my computer.

Yesterday, (before the 1.015 update), GG crashed with the error message "Run Time Error 7008". In the past six weeks Reloaded and now GG has become more unstable and very frustrating. I would say every 3-4 times I use GG if crashes for one reason or another.

Either the DEV team is rushing up-dates, or something is fundamentally wrong. Excessive load times, and these consistent crashes need to be addressed!

Hi GoDevils

Have you tried checking the integrity of your files via steam by right clicking on GameGuru In your Steam library then selecting \ properties / local files \ verify integrity of game. ?

There are always 2 processes running that need to be stopped when running Reloaded/GG (after a crash, of course): One is the editor, and one is the game. The editor is always near the top of Task Manager under "Apps" and game is always under "Background Processes" (Win 8.1)

Just so the devs know - I've not had a single crash so far and all the updates have run smoothly ... so it's not across all users. I've been using Game Guru extensively over the last week.

I've had two updates fail on me since the transition, and I know I'm not alone! However, a reinstall has worked both times. This was before finding out you could check the integrity of your install through Steam (as syncromesh pointed out above) Ravey even let me have early access to the 1.00.015 beta yesterday morning before I went to work and before it was released, to make sure it worked for me. I call that top notch in terms of customer care! I don't know what is causing GoDevils' problem, but I'm sure it will get sorted out. I do fear the shear size of his level may be an issue. I don't know if he's been using the lightmapper (that's just begging for trouble, and from the looks of his machine specs, shouldn't be necessary).

Yep, sorry I wasn't trying to belittle or contradict anyone else's issues - clearly there is a problem, I just wanted to make sure that dev's knew it's not across all people - as I know we are all real quick to report issues (of course that's the point of beta/early access) but don't always remember (or at least I don't) to say - it's OK for me

Course I'll have jinxed it now

LOL, I didn't think you were trying to minimize the crashes. And what you said about the jinx could be true! The first time I had it, I posted the issue, and nobody else seemed to have a problem. syncromesh was moving along smoothly, and while I was solving my issue, it happened to him as well. It seemed everyone else was fine. For a while. In fact, I had used an update at the time for at least 2 hours launching/closing/launching/closing, etc before I had the problem. Then it wouldn't go away... As in this thread:

Thanks all.

I was pretty frustrated this morning. It seemed to work better this afternoon, and It is good to know about the check integrity and the background process which I think is what has been behind my need to reboot. However, there is something going on. In looking at the Steam error it said that the problem related to the in-ability of steam to find or provide the files that GG had requested. The fix was to delete the appcache file in the Steam program folder and reboot. I tried this and after the reboot it worked???

Jerry is right, it will get worked out...

Just a follow-up

Jerry indicated that in addition to killing the program via task manager, that there is an additional process running in the background for Steam. I took a look for those files and found 4 of them....

Steam Client Service
Steam Bootstrap
Steam WebHelper 23.3MB
Steam WebHelper 3.9MB

Which one(s) should I stop?

I would try the client one.

That should kill the rest.

Or on the first one use end process tree instead
you will have to resign into steam also. Verify the integrity of the GG files.

Let me know how it goes.
