I'm building my first little cityscape (I am finally confident enough in ReGuru to build an actual level!)

Anyway, I've been laying down several of the pavement blocks from the TGC City Pack (Pavement 01, 02, and 03). I noticed as I would launch and walk across my little city block, some of the pavements appeared uneven, which is strange, because I snapped them together on a flat terrain. Also, when I encountered these blocks and the area in which they were placed, my frame rate would drop from 45 fps to 7, and then go back up after I sludged through the area. When I exited back to the editor to adjust their position, I noticed their auras were green, which, of course means they are dynamic. So I checked the properties panel, and sure enough they were not static. Instead of going through each and changing them, I figured I would just change the fpe, delete the dbo and bin and relaunch. When I checked their respective fpes, however, I discovered they were already static. Looking back in the editor, I found that most were static, just these few were not. There were some from each of those (1, 2, and 3). I have not been able to recreate this so I'm not going to call it a bug, but I wonder: Has anybody else run into this?

EDIT: I found a couple that I missed when I manually changed them back (Note: I DID NOT manually make this dynamic:

Thanks, I just tried it on my desktop (I remembered I had moved all my Guru Files to my network drive the other and had then transferred them to the desktop last night, so I was able to put that level up and try it again.) It does the same there.

As a side note, I guess I was a little ambitious, this being my first city and all, but I laid out 50 city blocks to be filled in with "stuff". After the few I just slapped stuff down on, I realized that isn't very practical! Frame rate REALLY dropped! (I really did know better, I don't know what I was thinking)

EDIT: I corrected my response, misread your reply, I read it as you HAD! Anyway, shadowplay works on my desktop if a video would demonstrate, but it really doesn't show anything different.

Yep, tried that, still does it. Kinda the same as doing it on the desktop. Nothing major, I started a new, much smaller city, not having that issue and it's actually looking pretty good! I was just plunking down stuff on the other megalopolis!

It's not a big deal, really, I was just curious if anyone had run across that, or if they even noticed. I wouldn't have even noticed had I already placed buildings on top of those entities. They would have automatically laid flat and I probably would have just had "slow spots" and been none the wiser.

A video if it helps (At the end I was unable to select or even highlight the entities with the mouse, I could over others, but I didn't spend much time, note the frame rate, upper right corner

I'm having a possibly related issue today in v1.00.014 where static entities turn dynamic if extracted.

Oh, duh, I guess I should have got that! It is quite possible that I did with those, as I was trying to get my street segments to fit right with the TGC blocks and I was moving things around quite a bit. I think you may have nailed the cause!

Yeah seen this, reported it a while back. One of the bugs picked up in tests. I just change it back to static manually.

One kicker about things becoming dynamic and you can't see it from my video, but I saw it earlier, is that they never stop moving. The physics never shuts off. I'm guessing why my frame rate drops so dramatically when near them. Thanks, syncromesh!

When click properties on entity from Map Editor, you have right access at those properties of entity, not to map editor icons and yes, I've have the last GG update v....15.
Later edit: I use the windows XP Professional with SP3

on the topic of editor buttons while choosing properties you can however still click multiplayer... intended?

I am having the same problem while extracting entities turning to dynamic. Another problem I have with extracting that sometimes my entities were gone or deleted My entity bar on the left is a mass, the text is correct only the pictures are different. I also put this in bug report.

I have noticed this happening if there aren't enough bitmap icons in the folder to match all the entities/fpes in the folder. I don't know if it's the cause of your issue, or even related, but worth checking out.

It will indicate and recue any missing files.

Thanks for the reminder on the "Y" key. I used it this morning and it helped.

Because I tend to over-lay entities (placing buildings on top of a sidewalk for example, I've found using the "U" key keeps the larger entities from messing up the underlying layers. That said, I've noted that when I use the "U" key I can toggle through several colors (blue, green, red). If Green is Dynamic, and Red is Static, what is blue?
