This can be caused by the steam update process ... It should be a case of just restarting GameGuru..
Apologies for this inconvenience ...

Was better before this steam. Now any automatic upgrade via steam make changing, and this mess all personal settings in game and entities.
I insist to put back in "My Product" page the GG updates, like alternative download for those who's don't like the steam.
DO NOT FORCE US TO USE THE STEAM PLEASE !!!

Sorry, that's not correct.
Reloaded was to be delivered on disk by post. Steam was not mentioned until last year, long after many had pledged.
If my post seems rude or stupid, don\'t be offended. It\'s just a failed attempt at humor.

GameGuru won't be returning to the TGC product download area, the intention is to make full use of Steam to help develop the product and the community. There were always going to be teething issues but Steam is a very good platform for delivering updates and content, far better than what the TGC servers can offer. Everyone knew what happened when update day came for Reloaded, the servers went at a snails pace and it took people forever to download, if they could at all. Steam will change that, if you have problem with an install of reloaded you don't need to re install just verify the game files and Steam will patch the files that are incorrect.

There really isn't any reason to dislike Steam it doesn't change how you use GameGuru in anyway, you can use it offline, you don't have to use the multiplayer features if you don't want to and you still download from the internet just like any other download. Despite what some may think and complain about it is exactly the same product with a new name.

I had mine show up black like that too but then I just closed it (made sure the process was closed too) then closed steam completely. Opened GG which opens steam as well and it all just started working again.

Some advice for those who are getting the black screen crash or the editor separating
We are tracking down the cause of this now

Right clicking on GameGuru in the Steam library, click properties, then local files, then click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE.
This will perform a repair on the GameGuru build, and restore any missing files.

It won't affect custom media or maps, so is safe to use.
This method only applies to the above crash and is faster than a full reinstall..

We expect to have a fix for this very soon.

Thank you

I just had the "editor separating " issue when I tried to run gameguru at 3:20 Pacific time on 3/5/15

Had to validate Gameguru files thru steam to correct the issue.
Steam indicated 178 files falied to validate. (it is always 178 files) +/-)
The folders containing the validated files at 3:24 after validation were the following...
Gridedit, cfg.cfg, testmap folder and all files in it
Guru-lightmapper.exe
Guru-mapeditor.ini
setup.ini
showonstartup.ini
