If you launch GameGuru with any shortcut that was created by the installer, the Steam client will automatically launch. For me, this is fine, for others, it may not be. I just discovered that if you manually create a shortcut to the GameGuru executable, Steam will not launch! Remember, of course, multiplayer will not be available, however, this may be useful in troubleshooting down the road. I just discovered this by accident, and thought I would share.

EDIT: I now have two Game Guru shortcuts; I just called the second one Non-Steam.

Hey Jerry: You can now run GameGuru in steams offline mode. under the steam menu in the upper left corner of the steam interface.

Steam interface will need to restart as it will tell you then restart. Then GameGuru can be used Off Line.

Then your short cuts should work. It is the network handshaking going on to inform you in the task bar when a multi player lobby is available to be joined. Located just right of the entities info on the status bar. Take it a minute to register some times, and will obviously not be available in offline mode.

Hope that is what you want.

I could always use GameGuru offline, or any Steam app for that matter. This just does it without the Steam client launching in the first place.

Sorry Jerry, not at this time for now. There is still a bit of hand shaking going on that is just above my head to try and explain. I was on that test yesterday. Something to do with steam and GG talking with each other.

I will try and find a more valid reasonable explanation for why it has to be this way. But offline mod should not be sluggish any more.

Sorry I can not help you more at this time.

Sorry Jerry, you are correct. the icon for the desktop property from the install is this: steam://rungameid/266310

The short cut created from the exe, would not reference that.

Sorry very tired right now, and totally missed what you where offering. I like that, since it saves me processes during development.

Again thank you.
