I have never tried MultiPlayer Ever. thought I would have a try when I saw the above in the Lobby.

Unfortunately in my Area my Broadband Internet is three times slower than elsewhere, Example it took three hours to download
GameGuru. When I entered the MageisColors Lobby there is no idea how much data one has to download, and no indication how
much has already been downloaded.

You are left in the Dark completely, could it take an Hour or a Day. Very unsatisfactory, thats my opinion. I do not blame the creator
of MageisColors in any way, but I gave up after sometime, I decided I was not waiting any longer.

I would say you internet is definatly to slow for any multiplayer

Can you play a multiplayer games at all on your pc(shooter)?
My dream is to develope games, which makes fun when I create it and fun when other people play it.

Usual loading times for me are about a minute tops and that includes importing from the workshop.
I am assuming that's for most as well .... It does tell you whats going on when its loading and its all pretty quick.
If it took you 3 hours to download GameGuru ( as apposed to 5 minutes ) then I think your internet is just to slow

I am in the same boat. I live in the foothills of the mountains, I am lucky not to be on dialup.

It not the downspeed killing you, it is your upspeed, that is causing you so much lag. Talk to your provider and see how much for much upspeed. maybe they can help you out.

If the service is a small one it is possible your up speed is only 765K. Not really going to cut it.

We are always looking to optimize the engine for better performance. but some things are just not in our control. Sorry.

Let me know about your provider.

Thanks

I live in Village situation, were the Village controls the phone lines, and Broadband Internet, but at $20 au for Unlimited Data a Month, at that rate I suppose I cannot complain, although Australia has some of the lowest Internet Speeds in the World, but the Government is working to improve that situation.

I will try a USB Modem from time to time. although $30 for 2gb it's a Rip Off, but is three times faster than my Broadband Land line.

I did not realise that the Main GameGuru download only takes about 5 mins. wow. Still like to know how much data needs to be downloaded for each MultiPlayer game in the Lobby ?.

If you use this website, you can test your current internet speed, download and upload:

http://www.speedtest.net/

If it doesn't match up to what your paying for you should let your ISP know for sure. But it does sound like your situation is more related to your region :/

I am getting what I am paying for, and the are matching there speeds and then some at times. So I cant really complain at all. I get 5mb down and 2.5 up. for practically nothing, cause that's whats available.

And with that speed, I can play and host multi player. so maybe they can hook you up with at least that. for not to bad of a raping.

My internet is not very fast (1mbps), but I can play Mass Effect multiplayer with no problems (previously I managed just fine with a 512kbps connection). Downloading large levels could take a while, but actually playing a multiplayer game doesn't require a superfast connection.

I'm quite lucky here in the UK, I'm with Virgin Media which has the fastest speed over here. And when they increase their prices they ALWAYS up the speed to soften the blow.

Nope I guess not. you sitting on the internet backbone it self. That's a lot of power there or is that fiber?
I have worked on servers with worse spec then that. I miss that speed for sure.
