Just tried to load gameguru and had a message from steam stating it was loading an update when it finished gameguru no longer works.

All I get is a steam box with the statement that it is loading but it does nothing!
Went to steam and did the verify local content and it said 4 files were missing and steam would replace them - nothing happened!

The update is V1.00.012 build and once again I think I have to spend my time trying to figure out what to do next....

Back to the old uninstall/install routine again ... this is getting to be ...

Actually it was steam fault they had issues.... Mine crashed whilst using it and the steam site was down ...
Working again for me but if it went down whilst you were being updated that would explain missing files,,,

Try a quick uninstall and reinstall ?

Did the tried and true method (uninstall/install) then I had to reboot the system. Everything seems to be back to normal.

You have to admit this is a lot of fun, huh? The beta process can be such a test of will, guess that is why we so enjoy it....
Almost looking forward to the next update just to see if the kinks are worked out>:/

Oh by the way there is no such thing as "Quick" in this process (is there?)

Now that my steam problem is solved, can you tell me how to include those emotion symbols in my post so I don't always sound like I am whining. I can't seem to get them to work.

Had same problem, should not need to reinstall, open steam right click on GG click properties, go to local files, click verify integrity of game cache, and steam will DL the needed files. In my case 177 files 130mb.

The emoticons didn't work for me either after the transition a couple weeks back but now they do! (at least I think that will show!) I think it takes several posts to get them working, kinda like the bug that reared it's ugly head yesterday only after "a while"! You just need to post more, I think. (I'm just kidding, but the rest of the post is true)
