What other games can be made using this engine, besides FPS? Im interested in making a top down project zomboid like game. Is this possible?

As is, GG can only do FPS games. But as development continues it will turn into a fully fledged game creator so you will be able to create multiple genres of games in the future.

As Landman has said above at this moment in time GameGuru is pretty much geared towards FPS games, although with skill in scripting you should be able to add RPG elements too. TGC have plans to expand the capabilities of GameGuru so that it's capable of producing any type of game that uses a 3D game engine, maybe even 2D games if there's enough demand for it..?

This is an Early Access version so it's still in development and if the original FPS Creator is anything to go by they'll continue working on GameGuru for years to come.

Much too early in it's dev for anything beyond First person view as yet. Although, 3rd person could be added easily enough I am sure (apart from media and animations. Best to get them right. I've seen many terrible 3rd person games because of poor animations or just bad control.)

You could make what you are after with something like AGK V2 I imagine as it is more general purpose. Still, we will see how GG develops in this area. It has some way to go in the FPS dept yet still I think. Still, once the main engine is more robust I imagine many features will not take too long to implement when addressed.

Im also hoping for different viewpoints when 3rd person it introduced as i actually quite like the top down view for a shooter.
Change the view angle slightly and we could make games that look this way

i don't mind waiting, there is heaps to do, anyway, from terrain to assets creating.
Is there a way to add more textures or is 4 plus grass max?

The key here will be the use of LUA. With scripting you can make non-shooter games and simulations now, but with additional features this too will expand.
