What happened? When I launched 1.009, it was a fairly quick engine load, level load, and level run. I just got Game Guru from steam and all of the above are at least 5 times slower than previous. To top it off, it took at least 10 minutes to actually run the Heirs Revenge game. It was stuck on Initializing Physics forever. As I was writing this, it finally ran the level. I've never seen it take this long before.

They did take a long time on mine ...But the maps are HUGE ....
The Big Escape is HUGE .... Pretty much all the map.

Add one of your own or make a quick one yourself or load in a (MP) Multiplayer map in gameGuru they are smaller...
See if that loads more like what your used to ?

It wasn't just the map loading, but the engine startup itself was extremely slow compared to earlier versions. I would say it took about 3 times as long to just open the engine itself. My Rescue the Princess level is pretty huge and it never took half as long to load as The Heirs Revenge and no where near the time it takes to run The Heirs Revenge. But I'll be working on converting my game to Game Guru and I'll get a better idea once I get deeper into it.

On a positive note, performance seems to be a big improvement so far. At least from what I saw in The Heirs Revenge anyway. Once I get Rescue the Princess up and running then I'll really have a benchmark to compare against.

Sorry to hear about the problem Tom

I must say that I have not experienced any major time delays. On my system (similar to yours but with Win 8.1) boot and load times seem about the same as 009 and 1.01. Frankly, this version seems a bit more stable than 1.01 was.

Hope you figure it out.

On first run it will be slower to load up the very first time. It has to go through all the media I imagine. Have you tried loading it again after the initial run?The test games do take an age to load, but for me they always have, so no difference with this version here. So far, touch wood, it seems pretty stable and bug free
