Hello!

I was wondering if anybody had some documentation explaining the layout of the Weapons GUNSPEC, particularly the Airmod settings (That control lazy gun, iron sights, etc)

Some of you may not know but a long time ago a forum user over at TGC Classic created a really unique weapon mod at the time called AirMod which enables these features that are now present in Classic and presumably still in guru, this is where the lazy gun feature of weapons comes from in Classic(if Im remembering that correctly).

I was wondering if someone has some documentation that explained how to control lazy gun, etc and iron sights. Also, a general overview of the Gunspec file and what the listed statements mean would be greatly appreciated.

I believe these are what your looking for.

Not sure how much is carried over yet. But you are armed with the ammo you need to try them out.

Thanks so much for posting the manual!

I can't seam to get an effect when I mess with the gun lag settings for my weapon, is gun lag now hard coded- Or is the feature not enabled yet?

I change the values for some weapons that have gun lag settings and there is no effect

When I was messing around with the gunspec, i remember having to close the engine and re-open it to get some of the changes to take effect.
Try doing that with each edit and see if it helps.

@shakyshawn8151 Yeah usually that works but for some reason I can't get any effect with adjusting the gun lag, even when restarting the engine.

@teamhalo I will take a look at it, I have a bit scripting knowledge so will see if I can come up with anything.

Gunlag is currently working but overall, the weapon system is still a bit of a mess and incomplete or broken in several areas.
There is a lot of potential here but it's got a ways to go yet.

I am currently compiling a new issues list for the weapon system and putting together a sort of guide to help people understand what all the settings are and how to use them in GG.

Hey EAI thanks for giving your input. I'd be very interested in reviewing a weapons guide if you were to ever make one, if anyone knew FPSC's weapons system well it would be you. It has been a little daunting trying to get a few weapons in game so far.

Also I've read some of your other posts on the board and you seam to have brought up some very valid criticisms of the current state of the weapon system so hopefully the dev team will use your analysis as input as to where they take weapon functionality in the later updates. It wasn't until recently that I realize weapon slots and hud are hard coded.

Also I figured out the gun lag, not sure what was causing the issue for me earlier but it's working well now. Still a little jumpy but maybe that's normal.

Sorry to resurrect the thread, but WHERE is the gunspec documentation?

I am pretty sure noone would let a game creator / engine our of Early Access without documenting its own proprietary config files
