Now that the software is no longer just a dedicated FPS engine (a fantastic idea I might add) when will the editing tools for the other genres become available?

We are concentrating on a stable PC release at the moment, The other avenues will be down the line.

As we are community lead, we will be guided by community demand. So, the more users that request a feature, the further up the list it will be moved.

There was mention of more melee support. This is good for different genres. Also the expansion on scripting so we can actually create an inventory system, store system, maybe even barter and trade. I'm personally trying to work on an experience gaining script for leveling up based on kills and such. I was near complete in x9 but its not officially supported anymore so I've moved over to Game Guru when it was Reloaded pitched on Kickstarter. I hope all my hopes for what this product will be will become realized. I'd hate to admit I spent 10 years trying to find that one software to build my FPS games and have it not be with The Game Creators.

I still find i was able to do a lot more with the FPI commands in x9. So the LUA scripting is still heavily limited in GameGuru. Also the complexity of the script might prevent the easy application of my imagination which was very possible in FPI oddly enough. Time will tell and i dont plan to wait another 10 years lol

In the steam release there are meele weapons included. Some medival things like swords and so on.

When I understand the scripting language myself, I promise I will do a beginner guide with a lua plugin which calculates the most stuff outside of the script, so your scripts are smaller. I did this for the weapon script and now it is pretty short
My dream is to develope games, which makes fun when I create it and fun when other people play it.

Even thrown stones, although I wonder myself, how you can do it, if player have not hands.

I would imagine that after First Person Shooters the most popular genre that most people would want is RPGs, so the bare minimum of features would be the following:

Levelling up
Inventory System
Melee combat
Shop system

and if possible Horsies.

@ Tommy8

There are many engine connections that are still needed just to complete GG as a 1st person shooter system, and many of these can also be used for other genres. The real power here for other types of games (mystery, role play, simulations, kids games, etc) is in LUA, which is far more powerful than FPSC's old scripting language.

There is still a long way to go, but they say it will be complete by next November... we'll see??

I actually like the Overhead view in the editor as well...
I could quite happily make a scroller or slightly Isometric shooter if GameGuru ever has that capability
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..
