Copy your key ....Go to your steam account..... at the very top of your page there is "steam / view / games / Help/ " select "Games" and then......"activate product on steam "
Then you can install it ...

Its a brand new installation and installs independent of Reloaded.....

OK, thanks to everyone who took part today. We found some good bugs to fix and will do more tests on Saturday and Sunday.

It would be great if you can make your own levels for the next tests. Just make small levels with at least 4 to 8 multiplayer spawn points. You can also use store media in your levels. These levels get encrypted and uploaded to Steam Workshop so you can share them without the other players gettting hold of the store media.

FOV was way too narrow for me in most of those maps, other than that everything was ok for me, no
problems, but how do you send a message in game ?, do you press enter first ?.

I prefer about 90 fov, and I don't like the gun too close, maybe 60 or so for that.

I tried to activate GG this morning after receiving my key, but Steam said it wasn't available yet. So I figured I would activate it when I got home from work (can't join the mayhem until Sunday, my day off). Upon opening my Steam client, I received this:




I will attempt it again!

EDIT: LOL, and THEN I checked my email! Never mind!

LOL, SC, I figured it out within 2 minutes of posting that screenshot, hence the edit. It works fine as far as I can tell! Loving GG so far! Zombies are great, the weapons selection is great, and the cartoon rabbit is cute although a little creepy! Can we expect a zombie version of the rabbit soon? Just kidding, thanks!

Jet packs all seem to be broken. Locks up computer when you pick them up.

Yes on the steam Game Guru and the FPSC Reloaded v1.010 jet packs are crashing on both versions. I have the same problems with it as soon as I pick up a jet pack. Even if there is nothing on the map but only a jet pack the whole level locks up as soon as you try to use it.

Just tried out both editor versions with both jet packs on there with a start arrow, 2 dynamic lights. No crash on either version for me.

Was there and error message displayed from the editor or windows stating what might have happen. Did the editor just die out to the desktop?
What are your machine specs and operating system, Please?

It locks up on my system when ever I use a jet pack I have to use ctrl alt delete to get control of my computer.
I will try again to see if there is an error message.

Just tried again no error message just said it was going back to the last session or something like that.
Just put in two lights a player start and a jet pack.
I got close to the jet pack pressed E and it locked up while it displayed press E to collect the jet pack.

I may need a better video card than the one I have now.
Scripts look fine must be something with my video card its strange everything other than jet packs works very well.

What is the name of the sound file? Where should it be?

Can you open the script in Notepad and verify that the name of the function is the same as the name of the script.

Also check and see if the sound file is in the proper place.

@kjwtechno: The video card should be fine as it is a 1 meg card.

I am looking at the script here and noticing that the sound in the FPE file is not being called, but some other sound, that I cant seem to find at the moment. Let me contact scene commander and see what he thinks about it.

@SC I also have problems with some entities, not just jet packs, GG keeps on crashing... But there are times I can open it fine when I go offline with steam, but when I am online on steam, GG crashes when selecting some entities.

Hey Kulet, are there any error messages when this happens? Also the jetpack is not working for you either? I have had a couple of black textures happen, but opening the level again had seemed to take care of them. No absolute crashes.

What are some of the other objects that do this for you? I have not inserted every new model yet on my machine. SO I will insert those and see if I can get a crash. Thanks.

Just a heads up...

I loaded one of my old levels to play with... made a few changes then Tried to save level...

The level went black and the message appeared saving level...

and I waited and waited.....

I then thought GG had frozen ... but I then noticed 2 GG icons on the bottom start bar...
When I clicked on the second one it showed an Error Box which had been behind the main GG screen...
There was one of the old X10 Blaster weapons I had been playing with... I had not copied over to GG...
So closing the Error box GG recovered and saved my level...

So make sure there are not Error boxes open ( but behind the main GG window)...

My jet pack was trying to link to a sound called weapons. I don't know if that is the right file or not.
Also when I first loaded my other maps in I had to remove all my old custom models that I had made.
Everything had stop working until I remade all maps without my custom models.
Some of my other custom buildings were ok.

If I am not back for a few days it is because of the snow storm that is moving into my area.
Ok then.

That is strange, as I use 90% custom media. I am guessing that you cleared your dbo and bin files from the old map session when you brought that in?

Are they not working when opening the map? After light mapping?

Jetpack sound I will check.

@PirateMyke, I only used default media that are included in Game Guru.. The thing that bothers me most is that sometimes it works, sometimes it don't, it crashes espcially when testing some maps created by our fellow developers here. However at this moment, GG works fine, the problem I experienced before, (stated at my previous post) are gone. I hope it don't come back.

If you don't have Steam, get it and install the client. On Friday, after 9 GMT, look in your TGC Products page, grab a key, click on "Games" at the top of the Steam client, then on "Activate a Product on Steam". Then follow the directions.

A couple quick questions:

1.) I see the 5 Steam keys in my TGC account (as per my Gold pledge). So I use one of those keys to activate my own copy of GameGuru through Steam and then I can give away the other 4 keys to friends for them to get free GameGuru copies?

2.) If I use a key with one computer, does the activation of GameGuru carry over if I sign into my Steam account from one of my other computers? Meaning, for example, if I delete Steam or wipe my harddrive and upgrade to Windows 7, I can still install Steam and re-download GG?

Your Steam key stays with your steam account no matter what PC you obtain... so its just a case of logging into steam and re installing
The same would apply to whoever you give a key to ... it would stay with their account ..... its as if they bought GameGuru themselves

Every Steam app I have plays on any PC I have Steam installed on. This appeared to work with GG as well, however, on my 2nd PC (so far), GG will launch, but it will get stuck on that opening screen that tells you about videos, etc. and I can't get past that now. I'm still working on resolving that issue. Earlier I had discovered I could stream GG from my laptop to the 2nd PC which is my actual game machine (MAME cab) (just like sharing a desktop) , so, of course I tried it while simultaneously downloading and installing GG on that machine. Therein may lie my problem. I am also running a ton of updates.

You need to install steam and run it from your desktop...You will see the menu on the top left of your screen
Pic below shows what you should see.............. Steam / View /Friends / Games / Help..
Select "Games" Then Select " Activate a product on steam "
