Hi,

For one of the next version, file encryption would be nice to have. I mean after you have done the final standalone exe, all files in the file folder are unencrypted. I don't think that everyone want that.
I think for fpsc the was an extra tool, but I think for game guru this should be inside the package.

Hi,

Good news. We are planning a Steam edition of V-Packer (via Greenlight).

With V-Packer (Steam Edition) not only games are supported but you can also pack your Windows applications (32 & 64bit).

Some of the features are:
- Splashscreen image for loading screen
- Files are stored in encrypted archives using strong encryption algorithms
- Autosave Mode, choose to save changes or start fresh (ideal for demo/trial)
- Configurable storage location
- Password protection
- Native 64bit support!

Nice news, it's a lets say... 3rd party product, or are you working for TGC?
V-Packer was available for FPSC, right?

Normally, a packer/encryption should be part of Game Guru.

Ok, how much will it cost?

There is plan to encrypt everything within GameGuru. Some files are already encrypted when you build a standalone game.

Encrypting everything is not a priority right now, as a lot is changing within the engine. There will be no need to purchase a third party application in order to secure your game files, once we are done.

Hi,

It is a 3rd party product. Indeed V-Packer is already available for FPSCreator (Reloaded).

However this new product will not only handle FPSCreator (Reloaded) and GameGure projects but also Windows applications.

Not only encryption of files is supported but many other features.

Price is not yet decided (will depend partly from Steam).

yes, at the moment it's maybe low priority, I can understand that.
but when the people come close to the final version of their game, then it will be important.
Also important for all the TGC store asset producers/artists to protect their work.

the only things that are not encrypted right now are the scripts. Everything else is.

and the maps... (if they not changed it since 0.18(?)) you can load them with the editior.
