Hi all,

When the FPSC-R version 1.010, is starting up (Checking the files for you....), my anti-malware software Emsisoft, is preventing the file named 'dbprosounddebug.dll' to load or run, because it has the malware, Gen: Variant.Kazy.28347, degree of risk, high.

It is perhaps, a false-positive warning, just to report.

I need to turn off that program to be able to run the FPSC-R version 1.010

Cheers,
Northern

Hi,

The last official Reloaded build doesn't contain any viruses but it appears a some checkers are returning false positives. It appears the virus it is identifying is fairly recent.

We'll look into this, but I've run internal tests using several checkers and I'm not receiving any reports. I suspect it's over zealous software.

I understand that this is frustrating, but please don't swear.

After I've installed the v1.01 got this error (see the pictured attached).
Any help will be welcome.
P.S. I use windows xp professional with sp3 (x86) .
Later edit: work fine now. It was from the old DBPro dll files.
For this version read: https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/210707

Youre right and i am very sorry for my latest posts.
But it is very fustrating right now. version 1.09 had for me a lot of crashes. levels not saving correctly.
So my hope was on this version. but the virus program hangs everything and the program goes in a loop trying to load the dbprosounddebug.dll
so i was really frustrated at that moment.

Again sorry for that.

Cheers
Harry

I know we're all very passionate about this program, and it's future. We just have to bear in mind that it is still in Beta; even though many parts of Guru feel finished enough. So bring your frustrations to us; but just leave out the profanities.

Is there soon a update for me. i can not use gameguru now. another option is to uninstall my virus scanner, but i don,t wanna do that.
I tried disable the virus scanner, but that does not work.

This will become a problem when the software goes public on steam. People go a bit nuts over false positives.

@HarryWever

Just add an exception for the file it is flagging. If it still flags after you do that I suggest you get another bit of anti-virus software, as the one you are using is not very good if it ignores exceptions.

There is nothing in the latest FPSCR build I have scanned it also with 3 of the top anti virus software suites and none find anything.

You can not i can exlude a directory ,but the gameguru makes when you try to open it , everytime a different location in "example"
C:\Users\Harry\AppData\Local\Temp\dbpdata29
the next time it is C:\Users\Harry\AppData\Local\Temp\dbpdata28
So i have to exclude the whole temp directory, but thats not save to do.

I am not the only one i think with fsecure, so i think its imprtant to look into, before anyone on steam gets his hand on it.
And to buy just another virus scanner hmmmmm

harry there are good FREE security, try comodo for firewall, and malwarebytes finds all kinds of little nasties and lets you have options. both free. if i am barking up a bad paring let me know. but they always do me good.

I get it working now.
It was a little bit unclear, you can exclude a folder in the settings, but it is also used as to exclude a file.
I exclude the dbprosounddebug.dll and it is now working.
Thanks for your patient all.

But i really think it is important to look into, because i think there are many other out ther on steam, who also use fsecure.

Thanks
Harry

Not familiar with mp, but I thought that perhaps you need open a tcp port to be used by steam in your firewall, even in your router.

To be honest..... If your using your PC correctly ... No iffy movies or games etc ...Then Microsoft Security essentials has improved Drastically since Windows 7...and is completely free
My take on virus programs is ...If a brand new virus comes out tonight and your unlucky enough to get it then it really does not matter what you have or how much you pay....You will be screwed..
Only ever have one .... or they tend to conflict and slow your pc to a crawl

i have no problems with my secure triangle. that and ccleaner i keep ship shape
a firewall is important as can stop unwanted transfers, even if you have a trojan active firewall can stop it giving out your info. malware then hunts and destroys and then windows security after as a secondary precaution. that is how i roll the dice.
