hi! i need help again.
i downloaded a model from here (the store or the forums) but i cannot find the thread again! it was a 3d model of a house wich was called "sweet home", does anybody remember this? it was an empty house with textures, floor, doors and 3 rooms. i just had to scale it down a little cause it was way too big.
in the editor the house works. i could put furniture in it, when i testplayed it, i could enter and exit the house without a problem. everything was alright.
i made a standalone EXE to mail this to a friend (this was supposed to be my very first FPSCR try!!!) but when i played the standalone the house was totally black. why did this happen????
in the editor the house did have the right colours and textures.
thanks for the help

check the build folders for missing textures in the copy over. usually the case.

Check the build folder for all required media, make sure it is there, then resend it to your friend.

do you mean in my entity-directory? yes, there is "sweet home" and all the files needed (texture etc). it's all in there and i didn't remove anything. in the editor it does work perfectly! not in the final game. or do you mean i should look in the directory of the standalone game?

Dont scale the size of the house directly in the editor. standalone does not work properly.
if you want scale down the house, edit the file ".fpe"
forgive my english

The software I use? ... Autocad, sketchup, Spazio3D, pconplanner, Kerkythea, wings3d, paint.net, torque3d, AxixGameFactory, PD particles.

you need to add the following line into the FPE file:

scale = 100

It can go into the orientation section.

For the black model in standalone game. Check the media folder there to be sure all the textures are there.

this was the solution for my problem! first i scaled the building, it worked but it was still black so i copied the files from the entity directory into the standalone game directory and it worked. thank you guys!

In the script you have published, missing the string "textured = test_D.dds"
Use the file .fpe attached as default.
Remember that "scale = 100" = original size.
So for example. scale = 80 -> smaller object
scale = 120 larger object
