But you'd still have to run Steam to run Game-Guru. Isn't that counter-productive? Is there any advantage other than the multi-player in having it in the same place? (e.g. being able to store all maps and media in "the cloud")
Sorry, my understanding of Steam is somewhat limited and the news about this is kind of disjointed. I can see a bunch of Steam users thinking they are buying a game and then finding out they bought a game engine.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy TGC is being innovative with this one and really opening the possibilities for multi-player, I'm just trying to understand how everything would stay synced if we now have access to 2 ways of opening Game-Guru.
Side Note: Even though I'll be shortly upgrading my system to handle the engine better, there isn't much in the way of clear system requirements for Game-Guru and that should definitely be included with the Steam release. As it currently stands, I can't even open "The Big Escape" without the engine crashing. I know I'm probably on the low-end of (1GB gfx, 3GB RAM) users, but still....
