As a result of user feedback we have created a V1.009 hotfix.

The hope is this hotfix will solve many store downloader issues, as well as allow you to minimise the downloader window for those times that you want to do other work while downloading a large queue of items.

You must have V1.009 installed for this hotfix to work.

To install just copy the exe file you download into your "C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator Reloaded\" folder to replace the current FPSCreator.exe file.

Please provide any feedback you have on this hotfix in this thread. Most of the team will be away for the Christmas break but we will monitor for issues here.

This isn't a fix for anything engine related, we listed all the changes, this fix only affects the store downloader system.

If you have other issues please report them as bugs and the team will work to fix them.

Hmm, I still am seeing that issue where it downloads "Palm Tree 05" every time I run it. (It's been doing that for a couple/few betas now.) Is there something I need to do to fix that? It even does it if I click the Download button again right after it completes the download.

No big deal if it's just something that has to be, I just didn't want to bother your servers with repeated downloads

We're all going to have to band together and beat the TGC team away from the forums with a stick. Enjoy your holidays darn it!

That is actually an issue with the way the files were uploaded to the server, we have to re-upload each one that has this issue. We will work on that after the Christmas break, no auto fix for that I am afraid.

I have the same issue with the palm tree 05 and also the jet pack camo (2 files on the jet pack)
No reply required. I will go with the "We will fix after the holidays". Everyone on the team, have a "GREAT" holiday!

No fix for me, grass is still gone with medium shader, hopefully the next fix.

I beg to differ.... The graphic slider is there if you have lower end specs so you can turn it on and off..

You have pressed "TAB" Ingame and set the shedder options haven't you ?

I got a First Person Interface Has Stopped Working dialog box coming up when I try and run it.

Thought this would stop the Palm Tree thingy but now I've read the posts here I'll wait for the stuff to be fixed after Christmas lol

You realise you copy it over the original FPSCreator.exe don't you ? Wherever you installed Reloaded

Its not a standalone installer or anything ?



Its a store downloader fix.... Also you can minimize this one so its not stuck there till it finishes downloading

Thanks for this fix, it works great, I just downloaded what was left in a couple of minutes instead of it crashing every couple of seconds.

I've got something to say - It's better to burn out than fade away.

This is a hot fix for the Store not the engine. You won't see those fixes till next year.

It does NOT:

- Change any engine issues
- Fix the repeated downloads, this will be fixed by artists reuploading their items correctly. Any item that repeatedly downloads has been uploaded wrong. We have a list and will ask artists to reupload the files. This won't be done for a while yet.

hey Snowdog ,

here is the fix for that
first person interface has stopped working error
I copied this from my answer in the 1.009 release forum that
Pirate helped me to find the answer to.......

juist to let you know.....when i went in to

" C:\Users\YourProfile\AppData\Local\Temp.
there was a file there and it wouldnt let me delete it as it said it was in use...
and so..doing a ctrl / alt / delete
I was able to see that even tho the FPSC editor was shut down...it was actually
still running in the background...so i stopped it.....then deleted that file and WHAMMOOOOOOOO
after that I was able to run the editor again and no problem since.."

try that and see if it helps your problem

This is what happens when I use the 'hotfix' file after i moved it to the same folder as the rest of the FPSCR files. I get the same thing as snowdog.-

When i checked that temp folder you're talking about theres hundreds of files there with non descript names, its impossible to identify which one is causing the problem.



Oh well. Guess I'll have to wait for version 1.010 before i can revisit this engine.

There is nothing different about the hotfix engine wise only the downloader has been altered so not sure why you would be seeing an issue like that. Not many users have reported an issue with the hotfix and we have had a lot of downloads now.

What's about fresh install?
You know, Make backups, uninstall, delete all the reloaded files, and so on.

There is a way to determine it, but could be bit danger.
Make temp folder backup in your pc, even in external drive like a pendr

Are you going to replace the exe in the installer with the hotfix? Only fair to the people who frequent emails and the forums less, surely better than having bits floating around.

Or is that already done now?

Only Lee can build a new installer as he has all the file required setup on his machine, he is currently on Christmas break like the rest of us.



We will not be replacing the installer, this is not a critical fix for V1.009. V1.010 is planned to be a quick release, so they will get the fix when that is released if they miss the hotfix.

CTRL ALT Delete Then start task manager.
goto processes tab and end "FPSC map editor.
This will allow the engine to quit running in the background.

I too have the same issue as tommy8, on my desktop but not on my laptop. I fixed the issue by doing the following:



1. Complete uninstall of FPSCR

2. Restarted my PC.

3. Ran latest version of CC cleaner (5.01.5075) file cleaner and registry cleaner.

4. Re-installed FPSCR and applied the hotfix.



After doing this I have had no problems.

- Allows the downloader to work in the background so it isn't forced above all your windows.

- Fixes connection errors to the server

- Uses a new CDN to provide downloads so they should be much faster.

- Fixes timeout issues with downloads.



I downloaded and copied the .exe file over the existing one, re-ran FPSCR and tried to download my purchases. It did not fix any of these and in fact broke the downloader completely for me. It still stays on top and is even hard to minimize. I am running Windows 8 64 bit on a laptop.

Not sure what you mean by hard to minimize it is just a normal minimize button top right. It is meant to stay on top of the editor, you cannot edit maps while a download is in process as the engine files are being written to. You can minimize to do other tasks.

The "hotfix" for store still don't work well.
The store still download again the Jetpack files every time when I access it.

That issue has not been fixed in the hotfix. It is a manual artist fix, and the items have not been corrected by the TGC artist.
