Hello to everybody,
as a late pledger I would like to know where I can find documentation (guides, readme and so on) about FPS Creator Reloaded.
Is there anything already prepared ? Is there a zone in this forum where all hints and docs have been gathering ?

Hi,

Currently the guides are very basic, mainly due to Reloaded still being in development. You can find a list of all the scripting commands and basic scripting guide here

You might also find the video guides useful, although some of these will need updating for V1.9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3ye2J8Ub-E&list=PLK_BX76g3SSIqbr-XUhaBYYxG36PumxYs

I hope that's of some help.

Additionally, you can read the old "official community guide" for FPSC classic. It covers a lot of skills and knowledge you can use in FPSCR aswell.

OK here comes the mother of all questions
Is it still possible to create layers in FPSC Reloaded as it was possible in FPSC Classic ?
From FPSC Classic Manual:
"+ Move up a layer
- Move down a layer
Shift+Mouse wheel Move up and down layers"

I wonder if with the new terrain system this is (or will be) really possible ?
It was one of my likey likey features.

I am very keen to make some tutorial videos but I tried downloading GeForce Experience so I could use shadow play to record my screen, unfortunately enough though my computer spec is better than what is required it won't work So I tried CamStudio and the frame rate is appalling even when I've fine tuned it with frame rate set to high and priority set as time critical... alas I can't make any video tutorials until I find a decent screen recording application that isn't full of spyware/malware.

If I do find some decent software, or you can find me some decent software I will be more than happy to make some tutorials for people.

Are you using an NVidia graphics card? A laptop?

Yes Nvidia GFX card.. and yes a laptop.. but the requirements say "GeForce FX desktop GPU, 600 series or higher, or notebook GTX 660m, 670MX, 675MX, 680M, 700M series or higher" I have a GT 740M and for some reason it's got a little cross by my GPU as if to say it's not good enough for shadow play?!? Very odd... and a big nuisance because I'd love to be able to make gameplay videos.

ShadowPlay never worked on laptop cards, until a few updates ago (or so they claim). I have a GTX870M on this laptop and it won't work on this, never has. I believe it still doesn't work on laptops regardless of what they say! It works fine on my desktop, however, which has a lower spec card. It is a GREAT utility. I just wish they would make it TRULY work on laptops!!!

EDIT: I last looked when that particular update came out, and ShadowPlay didn't work. At the time, if you were running Vista or Win 7, you needed to disable Aero. There were no solutions for 8. I am going to do a little research now and see what I can find. CamStudio works, but video is comparatively poor quality. Stay tuned!

@ Jerry Tremble About Shadow Play... I found a way to make it force run on your computer even if you havn't got "the correct specification" Here it is:

[quote=]You're talking about a GeForce GT 740m. The minimum requirements for SP are GTX 700 series.

I've read that solution as well and it never worked for me either. It's been around since before the driver update that would supposedly allow it to work on mobile. I'm seeking other solutions. There has to be a solution! Lol, there HAS TO BE!!!!

If you find a solution than PM me with it please! Likewise if I find a solution I will PM you... It's driving me mad Shadow Play should work and it doesn't. I made a really nice valley in FPSC:R recently and I'd love to make a video tutorial about how I did it so newcomers have material to learn from!

I will absolutely let you know if I find anything! I will PM you as well as post it here for anyone else that's interested. I looked into this about a year ago when this laptop was the "shiny new laptop" listed in my signature. Like I said ShadowPlay works great on my desktop, but that particular desktop is in my MAME cabinet. If you aren't familiar with MAME cabinets, it's an arcade cabinet. In order to use that desktop, I have to sit at it on a barstool with the keyboard and mouse either on my lap or on a tv tray. It's most awkward to use! Anyway, back then it didn't "officially" work on laptops, but there was that workaround you mentioned above. Since then, a driver update (332.something and above, I think) has come about that supposedly allowed it to work on suitable mobile graphics cards. You have one and so do I. We have the most current drivers, at least I do for sure! It just hasn't worked! I haven't bothered looking into it since the first time around, but some time has passed, and I'm sure others are frustrated as well. It really is the best capture utility out there that I've seen!

Duncan (and anyone else curious) - I got ShadowPlay working on my laptop! Yippy! The solution is extremely simple: You have to have a game that it supports. I never noticed the little exclusion on their website until just this morning. It WILL not perform desktop capture on laptops, no matter what we do. Sorry. Perhaps a future driver update will allow for that. I tried it with Tomb Raider just to verify, and it does indeed work. Perhaps there is a way to make it accept compiled Reloaded games. EDIT: Nope.

Beyond the documentation sources listed above, no, Reloaded is still in development. As far as layers, there are none, therefore no need to document them (or the lack thereof). Of course, you are welcome to try to use them, if you have the time, but since there are none, you will be at it for a very long time.
