Forester Pro is an easy to use tree creator for windows that generates high quality tree and plant models including deciduous trees, firs, palms, small plants (e.g. nettles, bushes, flowers) and grass. Forester generates randomized models from templates (different species) and 140 different species are currently available. Randomization allows you to create an unlimited range of models of a particular type of tree or plant. Forester features fully editable and poseable models in which branches and leaves can be moved and rotated to generate exactly the model you require. Templates can be customised with your own textures and tree structures modified. Forester Pro can also automatically generate LODs.
We've just released version 1.28 of Forester Pro which features specific export support for FPSCR. Forester Pro will export plant models in a format ready to be directly imported into FPSC. Exports include a model in X format, an atlas texture in DDS format, a preview image as a bitmap, and a fpe definition file. Forester can also automatically generate 3 different levels of LOD which can be exported into a single X file.

There is a free version of Forester that comes with 7 different tree species. The registered version of Forester Pro is $30 and comes with 13 different tree species and some free flowers and grass, and allows generation of custom trees. 140 different types of tree and plant are also available in tree packs (each contain 5+ templates) at $10.

Can I sell models made with Forester Pro on the FPSC Store?
Yes, if you use your own custom textures, you can do whatever you like with the models.
Are models royalty free?
If you have a Forester Pro license then models are royalty free. Models generated from the free version are for development purposes.
