hi every1,
I have just been messing around with oldpmans prison pack which I think was released yesterday some time?!.

here is an early screenshots of what I have managed to put together so far
also includes wizardofid's sci fi wall kit for outer wall and henry hams storage buildings and such. all good stuff

so far we have 1 cell block, the front gates and triple walls with guard towers, a work area for those trusted criminals to do cleaning and such and a workout/ sports area..
the putting together of the prison is alittle confusing to start with but I think after some practice it be a good deal easier, once I learn all the parts to join together that is lol...
more to follow later tonight..

here is an early test vid of the prison so far, just downloaded new screen recording software so.

not much to it yet but I am enjoying it mostly making it so enjoy
things are not 100% as I was just testing the screen recording software and this map is the only 1 I had after factory reset yesterday, so please forgive the dodgy placements of some things lol...

only time i would spend this much time designing a prison is if i was in a prison with nothing else to do... nice showcase though
shame the frame rate on that video is so low

I was looking at that prison pack and it is tempting. Yours is looking good, but putting together all those pieces just seems very inefficient vertex/polygon-wise. I remember when I was building my pueblos, I made them out of segments. A hundred or so didn't make much difference in frame rate, but at some point, the frame rate plummeted, and it was within a difference of just a few more "segments". Building something as large as your prison without optimizing those meshes is probably dragging it down even further than Reloaded's already low rate! Looking good, though! I wonder if those pieces will be usable in the conkit, as that is supposed to be able to optimize the final mesh, getting rid of those unnecessary polys.

that's a good question about the conkit optimizing m8, I do hope so.. and thanks .
as for finishing the level the size it is that is unlikely lol I just doing some testing not building anything to last so all that open space will be unused mostly I think.

is it me though or does it open slower than it closes? or is that just the recording making it look that way?.

is all together. Reloaded work so slowly for me, and I've very good specs. I hope next beta work better.
Perhaps if you try it, I can know if this only happens to me.

I am eager to learn what you experiences have been designing larger indoor spaces. I have always thought of the current editor as a good 'outdoor' editor, and curious what tools you might need to make it a great indoor editor too!

I will wait for conkit and tell you after that lee m8, so far its been a pain but doable to a degree. obviously there is a learning curve to the models used in this pack. and the pack itself could use a few details worked out perhaps. but as for whats needed from the sounds of it the free roam camera would be abig help.
locking entity height also, aswell as a better 3d editing, but again I should wait till conkit release b4 giving any real thoughts to it.
