Hi all. Heres a demo of what I have been up to with Reloaded lately. The clue is in the title. Also, go into a couple of other things I have been playing around with in order to get things ready for making an actual game at some point! Tree chopping and rock mining. Hardly more than basic still, but a bit of time and it could all be integrated and look a lot cooler with trees, rocks being more interactive etc.
Here is the video.

I got the pickup working by simply altering my body script. So this is an example of the many things possible with it! I started off trying to get a HUD to work, but with this method, the HUD doesn't really work very well, being too bouncy. Really though a HUD is far better using a simple overlay, either a sprite or a 3D object, which basically don't move, or with a 3D object move a little. So I am sure that will made easier to use. The jetpack uses a HUD so it must be possible. Once I saw that, although I really knew before I tried, I decided to go with a pick up and drop option for items instead. I think it works pretty well at the moment!

cool!!
DVader you are a very strong man.
Able to pull the trees can be very useful, especially if you need to feed the fire of a fireplace, for example.

Cheers all! Glad you all like it! It seems I made it onto Lee's blog with this

Quote: "has left the lead programmer of the Reloaded project wandering how the 'smeg' it was done:"

That's a compliment, although I'm sure it wouldn't take too long to work it out Especially as I released the body script a bit ago

All good! I'm sure I will get round to improving the later scripts by integrating with the pickup script. At least for the trees. I'm looking forward to getting some more done. It would be great to have a melee option for an axe and pick, maybe some arms to hold stuff

I know performance is King still, but we do need more Lua options to mess with as well. It sounds as if performance has been fairly well optimized so far, so a bit of time on a few Lua commands would not go amiss. Hopefully, as Rick requested it, they will look at the list I posted on the video and also others who have commented.

I missed one important one off the list.

Camera control.

Then 3rd person would be possible also.

Cheers all!

Do you need someone to help you move? Is that what this is all about? If so, I think I gotta work that day!

This is fantastic work. It really shows what you can do with Reloaded and LUA scripts.

I've got something to say - It's better to burn out than fade away.

Dr Lua. I like it, lol. Thanks all for the comments! Nice to know people appreciate the effort involved. I have actually released this on the store now, and even got a mention in the news!

Now if only I could get my survival scripts integrated. I have an issue with trees at the moment, they will not play ball out the box at all

Oh, and my little droid. He follows you around and serves you tasty treats. I hate texturing though, so I keep putting it off.
