Does TGC have any intention of releasing comprehensive tutorial books covering the ins and outs not only of the engine itself but also lua scripting; of character, weapon and asset creation and importing, that i could buy on amazon?

I would certainly consider buying this.

the reason i ask is that i've bought a book for unity that covers specifically the process for creating characters in Blender and making them Unity ready. If TGC could do a similar book for FPSCR it would be fantastic.

the lack of documentation has always been the biggest problem for fps creator imho

even today the lack of good tutorials and documetation is one of the biggiest handicap of reloaded too

even a payed book/manual wuold be great.. but I 'm afraid this will never happn..

The time and effort to put up a book, proof read, even publish it, takes a considerable amount of time and effort.Besides it's even way too early to even consider a venture like this, as this software is relative incomplete to do so.

never fear as time progresses there will be a community based tutorial PDF, for most likely madlad

Still far too early in development for a full manual to be made

We used to have the official community guide in FPSC and some tutorials on the forums. I wrote about 10 tutorials myself in the grey past.

If you where to print all that you'd probably have a book.

I'm sure the same will be done for reloaded (a community guide) but its unlikely that there will be any books.

yes i know that for lcassic there was plenty of guide and tutorial and the official community guide..
but all these were made from "communiy" and apart the pdf manual from tgc there was nothing official

but for me is good too.. the big weapon of fps creator was and i it's great community and users like You, Rolfy, SC, S4real, Cosmic, and many others I dont remember atm that bring this software to upper level..

Typically, these sorts of books are done by 3rd parties. So, if someone is adept at FPSC-R and ambitious and also a good writer then he/she could publish such a book. I've always thought about doing something like this myself, but it is quite an undertaking and could take a good solid year to do at minimum. If anyone were to do such a thing, it would be best to wait until nearer the official release when the software is more feature complete.

I bought the "Hands on Dark Basic Professional" books several years ago and they were very well done in my opinion, and make a great reference. However, I just looked at vol.1 and it's copyright is 2005. By that time DBPro had been around a few years. I would expect any such manual for Reloaded to be at least a couple years away, since things at this point can change at the tip of a hat. I think for the interim the Community Guides, video tutorials, etc. should be sufficient, as they can be edited and updated easily.
