DAZ 3d has a very similar kind of deal (Platinum Club). I belonged to it for a year, and found that ultimately it was well worth the price ($75/yr. at the time, several years ago). The only reason I haven't done it any longer was simply because once you've accumulated all those discounted assets along with the tons of free ones (very few usable in a game without modification, high polys etc.), there is very little left, and new material was added quite infrequently to the club. Good deal, though, and I don't regret it! I think it's a great idea. Another source of revenue, for sure!
