I might be in the minority but I love the concept of the Jet Pack and what it might lead to in terms of game play and levels. And whilst increased FPS performance and lighting etc are all very important to final success, I like that TGC delivers this kind of thing too where it doesn't take too much time from the main event.
I've kind of tried the Jet Pack using the lua commands in version 1.008 but I'd really like the HUD and Jet Pack objects themselves as described in Lee's video and the incentive scheme. It's just so much fun running and jumping off cliffs, towers, islands then powering around with the jet pack. I'm busy scripting flying platforms and will be 'jet-packing' on to them hopefully at some point. I can just imagine jet pack rifting too - I know, I know, not yet .. lots of other stuff to do first
I think incentive schemes are a fine way to help get funds into TGC (benefits us all in the end), but I don't have anyone appropriate to approach to pledge. So (I guess this is to TGC reps) is there anyway I can purchase the jet pack directly now? I know a purchase does not give the same potential income as a new pledge (customer) to you, but it would be better than the nothing you'll get from me at the moment? I'm more than comfortable to try and support TGC with attracting funding and funds, but this particular incentive scheme is constructed in a way that I can't fulfil at the moment. Others may be able to, and probably do anyway without specific incentives
I'd really like to get on with the jet pack though (I've a 'steampunk' game concept that I think it will fit nicely into) - any chance I could purchase instead of finding a new customer? If not, no worries, thank you anyway for introducing such a cool feature to think about and leaving the scripts in the main build so can try out the flying.
