But I agree we do need debris, and we especially need bullet marks/decals. FPSC classic had this, and its little details like this that go a long way.
In Max Payne 1 and 2, when a bullet hole decal landed on a wall there was a quick animation of gust falling out of it, and for a game that old that effect really stuck in my head as a neat effect.
