Is there a full api reference for the game engine? Tried looking for one and I am not seeing it. Just want an api reference with all available functions and classes that I can access and what arguments I need to pass for each. I also noticed that their is message before posting saying to visit the FAQ board but I got a message saying it was hidden from view, so I apologize if this has been answered before.

Just look in global.lua file, all available FPSC:R functions (not including built-in LUA functions). For LUA built-in functions, check the LUA language reference: http://www.lua.org/manual/5.1/

There are actually many more commands available than just what can be seen in the global.lua file. There is also the music.lua file and all the AI commands that you can find within the various stock ai scripts.

So there is not one general api reference guide? The solution is to hunt and peck until you find a function that will do what you wants?

Wow. Okay, that's just awesful.

It is hard to write a manual for stuff that has just been released as a beta.

But there are a lot of little jewels to be found with more found every day.

The best way is to open the scripts and see what is being called and how it is being called.

Reading thru the forums is another good way to find out what is available.

BTW: Welcome.

there's a rough guide in the update logs but honestly this is still a beta and stuff changes all the time so writing a manual is pointless
better to learn from the current scripts as then u have examples already
