Ye its a little late but we have come to expect things do crop up on this type of development that can cause delays..

TGC usually set a date with the best intentions in the world but it doesn't always work out that way

May be the internal testing team found some errors? I'd rather them work it all out than us all complaining about it. You'll just have to wait patently like the rest of us.

@rick I don't think apologies are needed, you guys are doing fantastic work and as for reloaded I think we all know to expect delays especially this early in development

I used Monday to ensure a good release of V1.008 and ascend email mountain. Tuesday involved a one hour team call on the Construction Kit and I am currently two hours into reading and responding on the forum. Going to grab something to eat now, and then I will start (and probably finish) assembling the Zombie Pack. All the animations, models and textures are done, and the script I created a while ago so should still work, so hopefully I can get it finished and into testing before the week is out.

Great job with this release .... but the illumination map does not seem to work properly .... the object is only most brilliant, is not a source of light.
forgive my english

The software I use? ... Autocad, sketchup, Spazio3D, pconplanner, Kerkythea, wing3d, paint.net.

Did you think the illumination map would project light outwards and light other objects?

Im sure many may have had that impression. Not all of us know that the illumination map only adds a "bright" spot and not project light. If I ddnt know, I might have thought the same. As in adding the illumination to the eyes would make them glow and have some projection.

I am a very blunt person. I have NO filters in communication. I say exactly what I think and feel. If you think im being abrasive, its probably a personal problem because usually, Im not. Win 7 64, AMD T1100 Thuban cooled by Thermaltake, 16GB GSkill Ripjaws series 10-9-9-9, 4 HDD's Saphire 6950 Flashed with 6970 Bios and all powered with Corsair CX750M

Yes, an illumination map does sound as if it would illuminate the scene around it. But obviously this is not a 3D package. Not sure if other game engines actually cast reflected light to that extent if at all. But obviously, if you could make a neon light that cast light to the scene, that would be better (or easier at least) than trying to fake it. Lights still need a lot of work yet, I hardly ever use them. I don't suppose they have been improved at all?

I don't know a thing about illumination maps, but inferring from the term, I thought so!

Illumination only makes areas of the texture full bright or if gradients are used they can go from dark to light. Emissive textures project light, used in a lot of game engines.

Real handy for things like lanterns, neon signs etc.

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum...

I think that you should map the illumination light as if it were a light source (in FPSC worked just as well)
