Hello everybody,

my friend and I trying to import an object from Cinema 4D into FPSCR.

We made a simple cube, unwrapped it and textured it. But we get only a black cube ingame.

Our texture have the same names as the object (cube_D.dds, cube_N.dds, cube_S.dds)

This is our FPE file called cube.fpe

The cube is not totally black it seems there some dark lines, I made a screenshot to show you guys.

If deleting .bin and .dbo don't work then check to make sure your texture files are in the same folder as your .fpe entity file.

I have found the description in the FPE file must be accurate to the model name in some cases...Why...I don't know ?

I noticed your model says cube.x but the desc = Cube with a capital "C"

Just humour me by altering Cube to cube and try again ..

The FPE code looks OK, and I do not think the names are case sensitive. Make sure that the .DDS file and the .X file are in the same folder along with the FPE.

From your description there may be a problem loading the texture. This could be that the .DDS file is improperly structured or it may be a problem with the .X code itself.

Check your .X file to make sure it is calling for the correct .DDS file (open .x file in note pad and search for Cube_D.dds). If it is not inside the .x file then there is your problem. Also make sure that your .DDS texture file is in the proper size format. The .dds file must be dividable by 4. (example 512 x 512, or 1024 x 512, or 1024 x 1024, etc.) In most cases you cannot save a DDS file in any other form, but you never know.

If nothing works, you might consider using MilkShape as an intermediate step to ready the model and texture for FPSR. MilkShape is less than $30 (US). Export the file and texture to a WaveFront object (.obj), and import the mesh into MilkShape. Then use the materials function in Milkshape to marry the mesh and the texture.

Then export the finished file as a .X file. If the DDS file and the .X file are in the same FPSR folder, along with the FPE, it should load and texture properly. There are many versions and variations of the .X system. I use MilkShape for almost all of my modeling, and the objects load into FPSR just fine.

Good Luck
Hope this helps

My textures have all the same dimensions 2048x2048. All files are in the same folder as before.
I open the .x model and change the code a little bit. The texturfilename was wrong I changed it to cube_D.dds.

My goal is to have this texture: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t254/Semtix/cube_D_zpsa3e24554.png
This is what I get now: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t254/Semtix/snapshot3_zpsa38b8123.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t254/Semtix/snapshot4_zpsae63b9b1.jpg

Thank you for your help I hope we can reach our goal
Later we will try some other software like blender.
