1.005 works great. Updates 6 & 7 have a black editor window. I have removed and installed several times. I open FPS-R, it loads, I ok the welcome screen but the editor remains black. I can't load 'get to the river' or any saved file with either 6 or 7 but my 1.005 version comes up and works great. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Did you uninstall 1.005 completely? Or did you just install over it? This is just a suggestion, not a guaranteed solution, but when you uninstall the betas, you should back up all you media and delete everything in the Reloaded Folder, then install the new version.

I renamed the Fpsc_R folder with 1.005 as old reloaded. I downloaded 1.006 and installed and black editor. I removed & re installed 1.006 same problem black editor. Since I have been busy I just blew it off. I renamed 1.006 folder to reloaded 1.006. Now 1.007 does the same black editor. I tried searching for a solution but nothing useable came up. I'm sure it is something simple I have tried multiple possible solutions but nothing seems to work. Any help is appreciated. I started renaming the folders after I lost everything back on the remove 1.004 and install 1.005.

I'm pretty sure you need to actually do a complete uninstall. Renaming the directory won't suffice. Reloaded seems to put stuff elsewhere (as evidenced by the fact that it shows recent maps from Classic in the file drop down if I have used something there recently). I just copy my media to the desktop as a backup, uninstall, then re-install the new version, then put my media back. The new installer shouldn't touch any personal media and hasn't for me, actually, but it's the uninstall that is most important! Good luck!

Did not work. I uninstalled all reloaded versions after saving the data to my desktop. I restarted my machine 2x and did a cold boot and still a black editor after the start up screen. I tried to load to the river and of course it froze. cntl alt del to close Reloaded. I still think it is something simple that I am overlooking but it is an elusive simple thing.

Slim Tonone-I just looked over in the bug reports section and somebody (Mikko) had a black screen issue. I don't know is exactly the same as yours, but it is a confirmed bug report. It seems to be screen resolution related. Worth a try! If that doesn't solve it, you might want to post your issue over there if you haven't already!

Returned from an extended vacation determined to find a solution to this problem. I removed ALL Reloaded betas, installed 1.008 same issue. I waited for 1.0085 to start a clean install. I thought it would be a simple solution. It was, sort of. 1.005 and older would work clk'n the shortcut or the application file. Starting with 1.006 the only way to successfully run Reloaded requires that I go to programs, TGC, Reloaded, right click on Reloaded and "Run as administrator". I can't run as admin from the file but can from programs. It works. Thanks Jerry Trimble for the assist.

Ah, the ol' "Run as Administrator" trick! LOL, I've been running everything on 7 and 8 that way automatically from day one just out of habit, so I always forget that as a possible solution! Glad you got it working!
