An entire half day was spent installing VS2012 with all updates, and the trial of Max 2015. Of course the sucker didn't want to compile straight away, so my evening was spent Googling error messages. Hopefully it will not need another recompile for two years (keeping my fingers crossed).
Good news is that I finally got it compiled, tested, and working for 3ds Max 2015. As of this writing, this is the ONLY directx exporter available for 3ds Max 2015. Get from the
kW Xporter page.
